Hybrid C8
And when the ice ages occurred, where were all the factories, power plants, jets, cars, etc, etc causing them?
That's right - they weren't even in existence yet...
So yes, there is climate change and it occurs naturally and NOT caused by humans.
OP, now you can forget about buying a hybrid and instead buy a C8Z, the car you really want.
YOU ARE WELCOME!
I am here to help.
However there is a hybrid C8 that was first mentioned by Andy Pilgrim in February 2019 in an interview saying an ME leaves room for a FWD hybrid! That was the first "leak" of anything about the C8. Andy Pilgrim was a Corvette Racer and works out of the Corvette Museum.
Then a leaked article confirmed it with sketches of the hybrid construction (see below.) The specs mentioned in the report re are listed (by me from the article) on top of the pic. Also there was an article a few months ago reinforcing that the Grand Sport will have ~100 hp FWD hybrid power combined with the current 495 hp ICE.
That article and a 2012 1174 page government report made it clear to me why GM had only a DCT! They had to have most C8's hybrid to meet the requirements in 2025! Funny the Luddites on the "Standard Shift Forrever Thread" would not except the premsis.
Then I found an Obama era Press release that confirmed it was becoming law had the 2016 election gone the other way! The use of hybrids and EVs would be required to meet the new EPA requirement starting in 2017! After I published I received a number of positive comments about my speculation. However non of the "Einstein's on that "Manuals Forever Thread" had any explanation of what GM was supposed to do to have the C8 meet ~40 mpg by 2025! That stopped all their hopes a manual was still possible! They don't want to face the facts. Rather "Play Ostridge!" It was stopped with the stoke of a pen in January 2017!
Here is the Obama era press release:https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov...iency-standard
Note it refences the 1174 page report with the average of all cars and light truck mpg of 54.5 mpg in 2025. But the Corvette Family (Porsche, Ferrari etc) ONLY needing to achive ~40 mpg. Below is a combo of 2 pages from the 1174 pages showing both the Corvette AND Silverado requiring that mpg level.
Here is my PDF that summarizes all that into including the quote from the Ferrari CEO stating they are planning 60% hybrids in 2022 and Porsche stating they plan on 50% EV's in 2025! http://netwelding.com/C8_FWD_Hybrid.pdf
Have fun reading! BTW similar requirements are occurring in Europe where CO2/km maximum goals are becoming law,

Journalism has become activism.
Where a hybrid C8 could meet ~40 mpg goal a Silverado would not, IMO. "Some Folks" actually need the towing power etc! So mostly EV Silverado's with some high power diesels may have been GM's solution to have the "average" meet the requirement. Lets face it she and the Board we much more concerned about the ~250,000 Silverado's sold each year than 30,000 Corvettes! Rightfully so!

The Corvette Engineering Team works here, whether as a Team or scattered throughout the organization who knows?
This is where the drive train for the C8 hybrid will be developed if it doesn't exist already.
This article shows the first drive train releases and further battery comments
