Derrick writes to us about the car and says, “The story about vets driving around in Colorado. I saw the same car! The guy had a laptop out and the car was clearly on inside but silent outside, it was at an exit on I-70 around 9500ft elevation.” “I could see all the gauges on and lit up but it wasn’t emitting any audible exhaust noise, maybe it was in the accessory position or potential hybrid situation, unsure.”
OTA updates in original test vehicle is my guess. More power, or better fuel management would also be my guess with no visible change in a light camo car. It could be a response to underrated hp Porsche 992 Carrera S, which GM is paying attention to. I dont see a hybrid or any other vehicle being brought market with no discernable changes from a marketing perspective alone.

A test vehicle is not getting an OTA update. Maybe an OTLaptop update.

Hmm, not the C8 Grand Sport, which was leaked in November 2019 and is in a Thread on the forum. It was reinforced a few months ago. However the specs in the article say it has wider tires (see pic from artle with specs added to the top of pic by me.)
However I predicted in a detailed PDF hybrids would have been needed for ALL (or most) C8's in 2025 to achieve what would have been law had the 2016 election gone the other way. Many did not want to believe that was possible until I found this press release: https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov...iency-standard
It says the "average car and light truck would achieve 54.5 mpg and how much you'll like it BS!"
But the Corvette Family average (Ferrari and Porsche etc) would "Only" need ~40 mpg! No way to get there without hybrid or EV's. When this 1174 page government repot was written EV's were not that prevalent so GM had little choice but to plan on hybrids.
See PDF as to possible timeing: http://netwelding.com/C8_FWD_Hybrid.pdf
This is a Composite of Two Pages From The 1174 Page Government Report The Above Press Release Was Referring.
NOTE: this is NOT a Gas Guzzle Tax! Rich "Corvette" Owner's Were Not Going to Just Pay Money and Pollute the Air with CO2. It Was NOT By the Manufacturer's Average Car (Ferrari Could Not Just Buy Tesla and Get a Good Company Average to Meet the New Law.) It Was A Prohibitive Fine On The Manufacturer IF They Did Not Meet the Goals By "Car Family."
