I can't get the Pandora app to work with the cars system for more than maybe 5 minutes. Usually, it won't work at all. At that point, the message is "Connecting.... waiting for coverage". However, if I switch to my iphone Pandora app, it works fine. Anybody else having this issue?
Without looking it up, Sounds like whatever carrier the car uses for the 4G doesn't have have much coverage in your area. *I think* You can switch it to your own phone plan and should use their towers, giving you the same coverage as your phone. It's just a simcard like a cellphone.
Turn on the hotspot on your phone, connect the cars wifi to the hotspot. Pandora will work using your phones data.
As Hamburglar said its probably a Cell data coverage issue on the cars cellular carrier.

I am not sure if you are using the service that comes with your car, or the Wi-Fi off your phone but if you are using the plan that comes with the car consider as suggested by previous poster going to your phones Wi-Fi via Hotspot if supported by your phone plan. If that works there is an App to automatically connect your car to hotspot called Carsspot Ready that works wel .

I've been using Pandora via my cellphones app with no issues, since the app that comes with the car has been so spotty. I'll try different locations to see if the cars app just needs better cell tower coverage.
I had a consistent problem with Pandora loading in my C7 w/ CarPlay, but I never have had a problem with it in any off our current CarPlay-equipped vehicles (Alfa, Mazda, Porsche, & Ram). I'm talking about a comparison with the same iPhone XS in all four.
The C7 was also slower at loading everything in CarPlay mode. In the other vehicles, it's almost instant, and the C7 always had a short to long lag.
My problem with Pandora is that... well... it sucks. The music selection is pretty lackluster, even for a premium subscription. God help you if you don't have a premium account. Spotify is a little better, but still not the greatest music selection. Maybe they've gotten better over the last few years, but they left a bad taste in my mouth. I settled on YouTube premium w/no ads and just made my own playlists, or rather, one very large playlist.
