I have not been able to find a picture of the C8 convertible from above with the top up. Is the engine visible? with the top down the engine is covered. Just ordered 2021 convertible but may switch to coupe if you can't see the engine in vert.

Go this this link, you'll build your own, and can see how the Top works on the HTC.
And in case the OP doesn't know, most of what you see is a plastic engine cover... Not that exciting.
On a Ferrari you are a lot closer to the engine and it doesn't have a giant plastic cover.
Yeah, on a car that has so much going for it, the C8 didn't do all that well on engine aesthetics, comparatively so. Plastic is hard to deny, and now, a whole array of aftermarket painted covers are popping up which might look ok individually, but overall, I think it makes it worse. The HTC is a way to enjoy the car for all of its greatest features yet mitigate what is probably the least of its design aesthetics. There will be lots of differing opinions on it...this is mine.
I’m ordering the HTC. Although the engine view in the coupe is an interesting novelty, I asked myself if it would hold my attention as an exciting design element after a year of ownership. The answer is probably not. I’d simply stop noticing it when accessing the trunk. I think engines had a lot more cachet in the old days when you could still tinker with them. Additionally, there are some early reports that the C8 coupe engine area is exceedingly difficult to keep clean.
Half if not more than that of the lurkers, posers, and posters on this forum has some level of chronic OCD. For them, a visible engine is an invitation to indentured misery. The car driven, the engine is not only going to get dirty before you make the end of the block, it will remain so until you spend a half day cleaning it. Every drive every time. So all beware the Show N Shine mentality. It won't drive you bonkers since you are already there. But it will necessitate a Ten Step Program you might not be able to complete.
