Default Engine cover and appearance package

Worth the coin for both, either or neither? Get the HTC and skip both?

I bought the Edge Red cover and took 20 minutes to install, I like that it matches the valve covers and not the color of my C8

If you think you want the appearance package, buy it with the car. To order later as an accessory is very expensive. Also, you won't get the lighting in the engine bay. As for the cover, I think the aftermarket has a lot better options for you. So I would pass on that and look at American Hydrocarbon or others for options there.

I agree, get the Engine Appearance Package when you order the car. If you don't plan on painting your Edge Red Valve Covers, get the Edge Red Engine Cover, they will match and you are done with it. You can order the Edge Red Engine Cover from one of the big GM Wholesale Warehouses for around $370-$390 which is cheaper than when you order the car.

Plus the engine cover takes like one minute to remove and install

I really wanted the lights that come on when the dome lights come on so I ordered the engine appearance package. Mine will be a daily driver and I think it will be pretty cool to come out from work (a lot of times after dusk) and have the engine lights come on when coming up to the car and unlocking the doors.

The problem with dressing up the engine compartment is that it is pretty open to the elements and will get a lot of dirt on it. Especially if you drive your car in the rain (GASP).

I just got my car on Thursday and was looking at the LBR engine cover. But, I have the Edge Red valve covers and calipers. Your post has changed my mind. I think the contrast between LBR and Edge Red, given the valve covers is a knock out. Where did you get your engine cover? Is it a manufacture supplied part? Thanks!

Can you see the carbon panels through the rear glass when the hatch is closed?

I did the engine appearance package and like it as it looks much better and the light is nice. bought my engine cover on Ebay and decided to not go with the body color and went with the edge red because it matches the valve covers.

I bought the Edge Red engine cover from Wildhammer Motorsports and the Tonowanda #1Team sticker from Ecklers. For some reason GM did not follow through on the sticker that was supposed to have come with the C8. To me it looks pretty good for far less $ than the engine dress up package. I painted the flags on the cover.

the flags look great. Is there a template for this or are you just artistically gifted. I would like to paint the flags but I’m not the least bit artistically inclined.

George, I like your Black Trident wheels, they look great. So far, I haven't seen many cars with the Black Tridents. I have a set of Black Tridents, just waiting on my T/R C-8. I also ordered the Engine appearance package with the car and purchased the OEM Edge Red Engine Cover from a GM wholesale warehouse, engine compartment project done.

I'd say yes as its not cost effective to add in the carbon and the lighting afterwards at all.

Oh, I'm not the least bit artistically inclined. I just bought a few small model brushes and some Testor's model paints and was able to do it. Trust me, if I can do it anybody can.
