Default Ordering new C8

Does anyone know if any dealers are taking deposits for 2021 C8. So far Dealers I spoke to are saying deposits taking now are most likely going to be 2021 models?

The other thing I'd check on is lemon law and sales tax issues for your state. In TX as I understand it, a out of state purchase voids lemon law protection. In TX also, when you trade, sales tax is only due on the difference between the trade and purchase. So if you have a 40K trade, that is a savings of 2500.

The C8 is the third Vette I bought from Kerbeck. Sam Kelly is a great, knowledgeable guy! Kerbeck is #1 Vette dealer and has been for years -for a reason!

Take and ad out in AutoTrader. Used Vettes are selling for good prices. Take the most expensive option, <$100 . Your ad continues until it sells. Do much better than a trade! I've sold all 5 of my Vettes by myself! You can put it free on the Forum sell page for your year BUT you'll get much more action on Autotrader

I think he miss-typed and meant 2022. He’s asking about putting a deposit down for a 2021 and most dealers have so many deposits already for 2021 models that they are advising customers that, at this point, a deposit would likely result in a 2022 model. Dealers haven’t been advised by GM yet of how many calendar year 2021 C8s to expect, and without knowing when GM plans to switch over from 2021 to 2022, it’s anyone’s guess as to how many model year 2021 cars will be produced. Demand is still outstripping supply by a large margin.

Agree! If you get on a list now you may still have a chance to get a 2021. In my opinion the opportunity for a 21 is fading fast.

MY21 will likely be pushed to 2022. So on and so forth. Get in line now.

Default C8 2021 Order

I ordered my C8 through MM in Nov and have been told that to expect to take delivery summer 2021.
MM has an allocation averaging 100 per month

Where did you get the 100 allocation average? Did MM tell you that? I know they received 150 allocations in November (which were front loaded), and 75 allocations in December and January. Therefore, I would assume that they monthly allocations would be closer to the 75 than to the 100, on average. This is totally a guess on my part.

Not sure where I got the 100 allocation per month, I thought it was through Shane but can’t confirm.
I’m # 668 and was told to expect a Summer 2021 delivery.
Do you have a deposit with MM?

Yes, I have a deposit with them. As of December 3rd, I was 431. Somewhere on this forum someone posted that they received an email from MM stating that they are expected to receive between 70-80 allocations per month. I have no idea if that was accurate or not. I do know that they received 300 allocations for the first three month, with the first month being front loaded at 150, and December and January being 75 each. I am only guessing that the allocations will be at 75, since December and January will be. Maybe it will be the three month average (300/3) of 100. We will all find out soon enough. It is fun to speculate.

I read that they were slated to recieve 1200 for the year. The 300 total for the first 3 months dovetail nicely into that theory. However, BG will probably stop production sometime in August to get back into their normal schedule. That means some folks who are over ~800 will be moved to MY22 just as we who were at the tail end of MY 20 were moved to MY 21. One of the great mysteries of life.
