Just got her exactly 2 weeks ago. There's 40 miles on her as of this morning when I left to pick up some towing hooks from my dealer. Wouldn't you know it, the car breaks down on the way. Well, at least the Check Engine light went on. They plugged her in and "the small computer" shows no error code, nothing. They may have to wait till next week for a more qualified tech and a "big computer" to get to the bottom of this.
The funny thing is, I haven't seen a check engine light since my last Chevy 20 years ago. And too, they RENTED me an SUV with 4 wheel drive in case it's snowing when I pick up my old new Vette. Oh, "Don't forget to fill up the tank on the rental. It's $5/gal if you don't."
That sucks. I had a random service stability control system then flashing check engine light in my wife's 19 Denali today while driving in the rain. New vehicles just too complicated nowadays. Went away after a few miles engine light as well. Junk.

Sorry about your issue. 40 miles in 2 weeks isn't much driving. Could be a low voltage situation. A friend of mine drove his new C8 28 miles in 10 days and had several codes. I told him to take it for a nice 100 mile drive. Zero issues since.
Has the light stayed on? If not, it could well be an odd-ball computer glitch you may never see again... or, it may show up every time you start the car. I had one with my C5 shortly after getting it that disappeared. The dealer saw it once, as well, but no codes ever set. In the intervening nearly 20 years I've never seen it since. None on my C7, but such are computers. Maybe it's all you saw.
I had a check engine light come on first week. But went off so ignored. Then came on again in two days. Dealer said exhaust valve code so reset valve and code. Two days later came on again. This time they changed the exhaust valve (after waiting a few days to get part). No codes since.
