Default How Much Longer

Just how much longer do us poor folks have to wait to get a C8? Does anybody know how many of the so called 37,000 first orders been filled? Once they are filled shouldn't dealers be able to order them for their lots?

Not sure what 37,000 represents, but there are 20,181 C8’s scheduled to be built for model year 2020. As of yesterday, 15,259 of those have been built, with 4,922 to go.

Wait for what exactly? To buy on the lot at a discount? (2022 is my guess). To put in a dealer order for 2021 at MSRP? ( You can do that now and expect delivery in a year). Buy from the lot with a markup? (You can do that now)

Need more info on what exactly you are waiting for...

The record is 53,807 in 1979. A repeat would certainly solve everyone’s C8 delivery problems.

The C8 run rate of 11.5 cars per hour pretty much limits 12 month production to about 44,000 taking into account holidays and typical shutdown periods.

just got this from the Corvette Concierge this morning.

March allocation - HTC, Z-51, magna ride, SGM
deposit - 10/19
3000 status - March
Dealership is in S Florida on the top 50 list. Bachrodt in Coconut Creek FL

TPWs from Shane- thankful for all they do for us.
5/20. TPW-8/17
6/17. TPW-9/7
8/4 TPW-10/19
9/9. TPW-11/2
10/8. TPW-11/9 (this was just prior to parts shut down
10/21 TPW-11/23

Hi Don, Thank you for reaching back out! We are showing that your order is now at the 3300 status – Scheduled for Production. Right now, you have a TPW (target production week) of 11/23/2020. Please keep in mind that any TPW date that is provided is a targeted date and it can be subject to change. We expect your order to move to the 3400 status-Broadcast, within the next week or so. Once your order is at 3400, a partial VIN will be available while a full VIN will be available once it has been produced. VIN details will need to be obtained from your dealer as our team is unable to share VIN information due to previous customer misuse with them.

We would recommend reaching out next week for another update!

Thank you,

If that date is true, GM is going to need to release allocation numbers very soon. It's hard to schedule production of cars, if you don't have solid orders. I mean, if every 2021 order is for a HTC, they can't make them... And if every dealer that gets an allocation dumps them all at once. (say 10-20-30 -50-100 a quarter) How do they figure that out?

Mike at Criswell says I'm one of the first 2021 to go in. (delayed from the April 2020 allocation that was canceled).

Whoa, okay.

We can only know what you say, not what you mean. If someone says the “have access to” something, I think a reasonable person would take that to mean having immediate availability, as opposed to “will have access to, at some point”.

So...............Most all of us placed an order and gave a deposit to a dealer and waited in line. Dealers have only received sold orders for customers and the only unsold available cars have come from cancellations.

You have a dealer that has ordered two for you, in two different colors, with no deposit and you get to choose when they come in? Well, isn't that special!

so if these are good numbers....don’t know how many shifts the 11.5 represents.....

this equates to 28 days to build out the remaining 20s? With holidays and the usual shutdown...won’t make them all in 20?

plant runs 5 days a week 2 shifts? Is there still a 2 week shutdown in dec?

OMG. That video was horrendous. It took seven minutes to make two points; that cars depreciate (really?), and used cars cost less plus they are cheaper to insure (really?). I want my click back.

I'm getting mine from Bachrodt in Pomapno on Atlantic. This will be my 5th Vette (and 7th total car) that I have bought from them. Same salesman all these years!
I put in my deposit in July 2019, went 3000 in March and am still waiting at 3000 for my Torch Red Coupe.
