Because THIS! The 3LT must be the best interior GM has ever made in mass production.

Thanks for posting a quality picture of the seat options. That gives me a good idea. Sure would be nice to sit in both before ordering.

I sat in 1LT cars with GT1 seats, and 2LT and 3LT cars with GT2 seats at NCM last year. I also examined the display seats they had indoors (that you couldn't sit in). Comparing the Napa leather inserts to the Mulan leather bolsters on the GT2 seats didn't show much difference at all. Even in terms of feel, there isn't much difference. ALL the leather in a C8's interior is coated with polyurethane (plastic), which masks most of the difference you might feel with untreated leather.

In a black interior, IMHO, unless you're looking closely, your wouldn't know if you're in a 2LT or 3LT car if both have GT2 seats. The only obvious difference between those trims is if you have GT1 seats vs. GT2. Yes, if you stick your face close to the leather or vinyl, you can see a small difference, but not much. If you get an interior other than black, the 3LT gives you that color on the lower dash (glove compartment area on the right, below the steering wheel on the left), which is an obvious difference.

The 3LT does get you microsuede headliner and pillars, and a stitched headliner in the coupe. To each his own, but the microsuede doesn't do a lot for me. Whether those differences are worth the cost only you can decide.

I have a natural dipped interior in my 2LT. Not the whole dash and center console but enough for a nice contrasting interior.

The reflection on the windshield from the light dash would drive me crazy.

You must have X-Ray vision, I can't even see the windshield let alone any reflections in it.

Polarized sunglasses significantly reduce windshield reflections making them barely noticeable.

Not in the pic, driving the car. And, yes, polarized sunglasses will probably help but then the HUD disappears, too.

They oriented the HUD correctly in the C7s and C8s. The HUD color changes but doesn't get significantly darker with polarized sunglasses. Unfortunately, they did not orient the HUD correctly in my wife's Avalon and it all but disappears with polarized sunglasses.

First there is a foot of Black dash next to the window except for the area around HUD. My 2014 C7 3LT Kalahari (tan) had far less black area and I had no problem in the 3 1/2 years I owned the car.

Second I found these polarized $12 clip-on eliminated all the glare including around HUD. HUD letters and numbers still very visible just a light Blue rather than White.

Frankly I look past the halo around HUD and don't often bother using the clip-ons.

These color Polarized Clip-ons remarkably stopped "all glare" including around HUD. HUD numbers are the same visibility just Light Blue instead of White.

You are wrong about the HUD disappearing with polarized sunglasses, even cheap Bell & Howell blue lens Tac Glasses. I can see the Hud's image on windshield with no problem at Half brightness. Two weeks ago after a discussion about subject, found out I could turn the "Brightness up on it"...LOL, which does make for brighter numbers on windshield, but went back to half bright as it's what I'd gotten use to in 1st 1,000 or so miles. I can even drive without sunglasses, an never notice the "Glare" except driving into a bright Sunset. Even then it's no worst viewing wise as one of my other cars with a Black Dash, it's the sun's glare,..."on the windshield".

My 1st person view, not what I read on the Internet! I even did sunglass testing before I got my C8, using Black dash, slick gloss white paper & glossless white paper with Black Lettering on them driving into sun at different times of day, just testing before hand, for the drive home from NCM delivery.

I have no idea about leather, etc. What I do know is that if I ordered my $85,000 dream car, but cheaped out for an extra $3200 and didn't get the "best", it would drive me nuts. YMMV. Good luck.

Me Too! This is from the GM C8 Configure Website: https://visualizer.chevrolet.com/ui?...US&channel=b2c

As expected the 3LT and 2LT look similar but go there yourself and you can turn the pic around and see all directions. Can't show the roof in the 3LT. You can see the GT2 seat in the 3LT and cheaper GT1 in the 2LT.

The 1LT is striped and lots of black Vinyl. Note I picked a neutral Interior color to show differences. You can pick whatever you'd like.

Yep, this is cropped of 3LT Jet Black with Red stitching.

Not as clear but as expected the 2LT and 3LT are probably identical. It's the roof and what colors you can select that make a difference. For example "Dipped" colors require a 3LT.
IF you don't want a special color that can only be purchased as a 3LT and don't care about the roof or "A" pillars save the $3155 (assuming you want the GT2 Seat which is an option in a 2LT!)

Keep in mind, this pic is NOT a real car, just a simulation developed by GM. The detail on an expanded simulation, other than it shows the red stitching is not meaningful.

I got the 3LT on my 2014 C7 because I wanted the higher finish. I drive my car a lot and parked outside for most of my work days. The leather started to shrink because it was black and soaking up the sun. For that reason I got the 2LT in the C8 and it feels and looks very much the same way as the leather in the C7. I also got the GT1 seats. I couldn't decide and let my wife see the two pictures when ordering. She made the decision for me. I am very happy with how they look.

Thank you everyone for your kind inputs. I have decided to go with 3LT interior. I just wanted to get the best interior as I will be more inside the car than outside.

For me, what made me decide on 3LT was the following

1. Steering airbag (horn) leather/stitching instead of what looks like soft material in 2LT

2. Door trim panels

3. Center console leather instead of grainy leather in 2LT

I think these 3 areas will make the interior more warm and luxurious in 3LT package.
