Default OnStar Tracking

I know there have been discussion about tracking your car after it leaves BG. Well, it worked. I added my VIN to the MY Chevy app and used the Find Location. BOOM!!!!!! There it was traveling down to Memphis last Friday. 😍😍

After a long wait, I’ll have to wait a few more days. Throw my back out and can barely walk. 🙄

I'm doing the same with mine although I have mixed feelings about knowing where it's is at any given time. I placed a reservation the day after the unveiling on July 18th, 2019 with my local dealer. At that time I was #6 in line for an allocation. My car was built on 10/28/2020. My dealer, Stevinson Chevrolet was invoiced on 10/30 and I promptly went there and paid for the car (MSRP plus D&H), requesting they activate Onstar service so I could track it via the My Chevy app. As soon as I set it up I could locate the car sitting in a parking lot at the BG assembly plant where it sat until 11/03. Upon leaving BG it stopped at the GM Powertrain Transmission Operations in Toledo OH for a short time on 11/05 and is currently in a railyard in Toledo, I assume awaiting loading and departure for a more western destination. The reason I have mixed feelings is that my car is ready, the weather has been incredible the past week and I am watching my car move further away from me.

Living outside Denver it's hard to watch it moving NE instead of West. I have force myself to not check on it every few hours like I did when in the beginning. Now I locate it once in the morning, and once each evening. I also set the app to notify me when the car arrives at the dealership so I can watch them unload it.

Just so I’m clear, you had your dealer activate OnStar for the vehicle, correct? (My C8 is still at BGA, and the MyChevrolet app is showing “Parked/ No Location”).

I’m not sure. What happened was that I received an email about a trial for OnStar. So I added my 2020 to the app (which I had because of my 2014) and accepted the trial.

im assuming the dealership activated it. I also got an email about Siris XM. I received the email the same day the car left Bowling Green. I never called the dealership because it didn’t seem to matter.

Arrived Saturday morning so I’m hoping the car is all cleaned up so I can pick up today. 😃 if my back is better.
