Default New C8 deposit?

So I have talked to alot of dealers some say $500 others say $2000 and yet others say $1000 what is the real number? Last thing why cant some of these dealers make it so much easier by taking a credit card, charge me the 3% deals done not this send me a check or wire transfer. Not looking to flip one of these but to enjoy it instead of letting it sit like my Z06 does in my garage.

Thank for the info
Mark

Because every one is different. GM doesn't control their selling policies.

Just pick the one that works best for you. If someone doesn't they don't get the sale.

The real number is whatever a dealer wants. There is no reason they all have to be the same.

My dealer required a $5k deposit. Long as it all went towards the car, I didn't care.

It may be negotiable.

When I originally reached out to several dealers (didn't know which was at MSRP) they all had different amounts. The closest one to me offering at MSRP said the deposit was $2,500 and I basically said I wasn't ready to put that much down on a car I didn't even know if I really wanted (this was before pricing was before option pricing was announced). They came back and said they'd let me put $1,000 down instead. I decided to go with them.

Dealers are free to charge whatever amount they want as a deposit. Of course they need to be reasonable as too high of a deposit is likely to turn potential buyers away.

Higher deposits help dealers deter buyers that like to place multiple deposit across the country.

I’d be more worried about getting a signed contract with the actual total price out the door and getting a signed contract that defines that it doesn’t include:
  • local advertising,
  • $2500 ceramic coating
  • etc, etc

THAT IS WHAT SOME HAVE HAD ADDED!
