Consensus was last Thursday, allocations will be tomorrow. Thursday to Thursday. Orders assigned to those allocations will be 2000/3000 early next week.

Is it expected that dealers will receive Q1 allocations tomorrow?

No, just November allocations. They should have gotten a quarterly guide number (anticipated 3 month allocations) last week. Actual allocations will be probably be issued monthly as they did for the 2020 MY. Most GM vehicles go through 2 cycles each month but the C8 has had only 1 (or none).

Be still my heart! Twelve months to get to the allocation stage. Another two to get a car, maybe. I'm right on schedule and in good company. I will have to turn up my pacemaker.

Man, this is a bummer. My small dealer received nothing last week which sounds like my order won’t get picked up until at least March now, possibly Feb assuming the quarter is Nov/Dec/Jan. I need to find another bottle of patience!

Just how small are they? How many 2020 allocations did they have?

There is no "usual" on this for the C8. The last allocations were March and they are still building those. However, the queue is definitely getting smaller. TPW's 6-10 weeks in the future is certainly possible - IF vendors can keep parts in supply which has been a challenge lately. The plant is shutdown this Thursday and Friday due to part shortages - the second shutdown in the past 30 days.

2! That's what I would call extremely tiny. Very possible they will have no allocations for a quarter.

It sounds like they ended up with 2 for 2020. Do you know how many they were expecting for 2020 before the strike and the pandemic? That initial expectation would be a reasonable estimate of what they might get in 2021.

3, I was the third. Now their first for ‘21. Yes, a small town dealer in the Midwest. I realize I could have gone to one of the larger corvette dealers but chose to stick with this dealership who has supported my Dad’s business for year with vehicle service. I’ll just take another patience pill and wait my turn. Wouldn’t be driving it on the salty Midwest roads anyhow. Just like understanding what the allocation process is. Something new to learn. Appreciate all the input gents/gals!!

I'm in the same boat. Small dealer only expecting 6-10 for MY21. I'm at #1 and he got zero this quarter. Now I have to wait until the February allocation (at least I'm ASSUMING the next one is February?) .

Zymurgy - Based on allocations starting today 11-12-20, and no major third world problems, would you think the second consensus will be February 4, 2021 and the allocations start February 11, 2021. I think I will be in the next consensus.

No, there will be one every month (provided the factory can stay open - a big IF). The allocations issued today are for one month - November.

All the talk about "quarterly" - that was the "guide" number - Chevy gives dealers guidance on what they anticipate allocations to be over the next 3 months. Real allocations are never issued quarterly. Most GM vehicles go through 2 consensus/order cycles per month. The C8 has only had one (or none) for 2020 MY and that seems to be continuing for 2021 MY.

i'm going to have to go back and read your write up @Zymurgy on how the consensus/allocation process works. Just when I think I have it figured out, I confuse myself again. Glad the dealers have it straight!
