Default HTC Differences

I've found a few differences in the two models, besides the big obvious one. The HTC has the Rear Camera Mirror on the 1LT version, but it does not function when the top is stowed. Does anyone know for sure if the trunk on the HTC is exactly the same size as the coupe? Are the interior dimensions & headroom of both cars the same?

Per the official capacities and dimensions, both are the same.

However, it appears that some parts of the THC roof intrude more than on the coupe.

Trunk is exactly the same as the Coupe.
Interior dimensions are the same EXCEPT headroom. HTC has a few more inches headroom for tall drivers (seat all the way back). Someone had a post recently with a tape measure, and the difference was pretty significant.

I wonder how Chevy measures headroom versus how Jeremy measured it? Chevy says the headroom is the same (see post #2).

I think the main difference is that Jeremy was measuring to the structural part of the roof with the seat all the way back. The official SAE measurement of headroom is done with the seat in the middle of its travel, so GM's measurement is to the removable roof. The aluminum structure and latch mechanism limits room at the rearmost seating position.

There are subtle differences in the trunk shape. The coupe may have a tiny bit more space for very small items at the very front of the trunk, but not enough to make a measurable difference:

I think the cargo space in the trunk is the same in both, but the dimensions are a bit different.

If going 3LT, the coupe has stitching on the headliner and the HTC doesn't.

The question is, will a Coupe Targa Top fit in the HTC Trunk?

Are you planning participating in some sort of "scavenger hunt" that includes a C8 Targa top, while you are driving your HTC?

That headliner stitching is a nice 3LT touch. Wish they had added it to the HTC 3LT given what I’m paying.

I assume you were just joking, but the answer is no. That’s why they are shaped slightly differently. The top forward part on the coupe has a slight cutout for the targa top. It barely fits. They used that space on the engine side in the HTC for something, I think maybe part of the coolant recovery tank.

Ah, you'll get over it. Just put the top down and enjoy. There will be no headliner to look at. LOL!
