Any one have issues with the back up camera screen going black? My car has been in the shop for 2 weeks trying to resolve this problem. They have changed the camera it self, and now are changing the control box.
I had NCM delivery and the back up camera worked intermittently at that time. Since then, it has not worked about 12-15 times. After parking and turning the car off for 5 minutes, it resets and works. It has been a while since the back up camera stopped working, maybe 2-3 weeks. I alerted the local dealer so he has a record of the problem. I have not brought it in because it is an intermittent issue and am assuming it will be difficult to correct if it works while at the dealer.
The cameras failed on my wife's Cadillac XT5 when we picked it up in the dealers lot. But it was intermittent. The dealer had it twice for 10+ days and couldn't find the problem. There don't seem to be any diagnostic codes to follow.
I don't like it but I don't have much alternatives unless I want to go to war with the dealer. It is still intermittent seven months after purchase.
My backup camera has been ok but my friend’s was intermittent from time of delivery.
First the dealer replaced the camera. That didn’t fix it.
Then they worked with the tech line who suggested replacing the module. Still intermittent with new module.
Finally they had an engineer come out and look at it. He ended up ordering the wire harness.
The dealer installed the new harness and now it’s fixed.
