Rear License Plate Frames ?

The flag is a decal I bought on Ebay
Those plate frames will get you a $150 ticker if you drive thorough SC! The law clearly states (as it does in some other states) : NO PART OF ANY LETTER OR NUMBER CAN BE COVERED. Actually justified as when stopped the Officer will call in your State and plate number to check that the car is not stolen or there is a risk they will get shot.
In court the judge will tell you they are not required to "guess" now much of a letter or number" they need to see before they are sure of the state or exact plate number. Nope, "Any part of..." makes it clear. You're wrong and the State makes $150. Also a good reason to pull you over to catch for other things, as my Constable friend said. Also not even a clear plastic cover is allowed.
Here is My C8 and Prior 2 C7s:
It turned out to be very nice: easy to install, fits well, good looking, and it doesn't have the two extra screw mount at the bottom where on C8's body there's no screw holes to use these two lower ones. And best of all, it's one of the least expensive. The only issue is that the black screw covers don't snap onto the screw well, and I had to use some glue to glue them on to cover the screw heads.
Highly recommended for its price and look!

@JerryU , I think it would also be legal in SC, which I may very well drive through at some point, so I'm glad you alerted me to that quirk in their laws--and it's not even the only one that I'm aware of. SC must be a unique place.
There are other states, I know Texas is one. Yep they catch a lot of "Yankees" coming down I95 to Florida (and going back!) We're the first large town after you cross from NC. In fact we're the only large town on I95 in SC. After you get complacent and are going 80+ in the rural area North of town there is a stretch of ~5 miles with a 60 mph speed limit. It's actually a high ancient area before where I20 intersects I95 and where there are some short entrance ramps.
They love to set up radar or laser's in the center divider. Make a lot of money with speeding tickets in addition to that $150 fine for license plate frames or plastic covers! The few times I use the Interstate (too may 18 wheeler tire treads in the road and I have to watch my speed so am on cruise control) folks pass me going 80+ in that 60 mph limit section. (20 mph over will get you a steep reckless driving ticket and big fine.) I have more fun taking back roads to town, lots of turns, some twisty sections and the corn and cotton in farm fields I pass don't care how fast I'm going!
