It probably was!

I've seen it on so many visits that I remember the owner's name--begins with "L" and ends in "E". I wonder why it's been there so long.

I feel after market is the way to go. GM did not put a lot of thought process when designing there choice of rims. The after market rims makes the C8 a lot sharper looking. There Black Trident 5 spoke wheels are there best option for a black rim. The problem is that they are shipped separately so you have to mount and balance them. I wish they gave you this option from the factory.

Completely agree. I liked the look of the tridents in pictures. Then I saw a couple of them at a dealer and they almost looked invisible. This is something you really need to see in person. These are quite underwhelming. And for the premium you're paying?? I'd think twice

I painted my machined edge to match the calipers. Love the way t turned out and one of the first compliments I get when someone sees the car.

@benplace What color/type paint and what was the process. Easily removed if for some reason it's not what I was hoping for? Not sure if the effect would be the same with my BS HTC. I do have Bright Red Calipers as well.

Well, under the same belief I have my car coming not with the Black TRrident but also with the Carbon flash 5 spoke. I cannot understand why that cannot be swapped without having 2 sets of wheels! Now, I will have the dealer do the swap and I will need to sell the original wheels. Crazy but it is what it is., Anyone know where to put these up for sale to get the best response? Also, does anyone know where to pick up yellow center wheel caps? Otherwise I will need to paint the current ones. Not a big deal but rather not!!

Why spend $995 for the black wheels with the machined edge and then have to buy paint and paint them?
Did they pick up your car and powder coat them and then remount and rebalance all 4 wheels and return the car back to you for $440.00? If they did that's a deal.
I enjoy projects and the satisfaction of the finished product and I dont want anyone driving my car.

Dropped the car off at the tire shop in the the morning. They took the wheels and tires off. They sent the wheels to the powder coating shop, they got the wheels back, they remounted and balanced the tires and reinstalled them. I picked the car back up the next day, $440.

If I had a C8 I would do the same thing except. I would try to install 265/35/19’s and 325/30/20’s.
