Default The latest recall

So, my dealer made it sound like there's a bunch of things needed on the latest recall. DCT software upgrade, radio frequency adjustment, and an adjustment to the owner's manual.
Brought my car in and was told it'll be several hours for the work. Walked across the street for some lunch. Finished lunch and got a call that my car was ready. WTH, it was supposed to be several hours.

Here's what was done according to the tech:

DCT software - the upload didn't even take 5 minutes.
Radio Frequency - all he did was replace the frequency stickers in the glove box
Owner's manual - It was just a photocopy of some insert and he just stuck it in the manual

What a joke, dealer made it sound like life or death and the tech basically said my car would of been fine without the recall

Business is really slow. The life or death part is the warranty payment the dealership service shop gets for doing the work.

Could you post a copy of the owners manual insert?

Here ya go:

They made a correction to the NFC label and the insert, by regulation, has to be included with the owner's manual.

"Business is really slow." No, just business as usual in the all too typical GM dealership.

There’s a big difference between a recall and an update. For that matter a recall & a TSB as well. Glad they got your car updated fairly quickly

WRONG. The life or death part is if a dealer sells and releases a car that has an open recall on it and the customer drives off the lot with it. The manufacturer can then come after the dealership and slap them with a hefty fine.
