I’m sure lots of dealers are accepting orders for MSRP but you would need to place an order and there would be a wait for it to be build. There is limited supply of on hand inventory but in most cases there is a large markup on them.
Maybe the 2022 model. I'm sure it will be difficult to find any dealership that will sell you a 2021 model at MSRP. It is all about supply and demand. Many people have been waiting for over a year but it never hurts to try.
I’m sure there are local dealers at msrp.....a friend living there was saying this but I sure don’t remember who the dealer was.
But Les Stanford in Detroit does and they have decent allocation. Plus I’d roll the dice with them to chance getting employee pricing. At some point employee pricing will be offered.....and Stanford promotes it.
Good luck. These C8's will forever be selling like hotcakes. Probably will end up being the most popular generation of ANY model car ever in history. It's just too good and people are willing to wait 12+ months for one. I do think you'll be able to get a 2021 but dealers know they can get more so why would they sell to someone, even if they waited a long time, at MSRP, when they know if someone wants one so bad, they'll pay above MSRP for one.
I say try, because it never hurts to try. But i think you're looking at a 2022 model. Might as well wait for the E-RAY or the Z06.
Another set of C8's that EVERYONE will want their hands on. GM pushed all the right buttons for this C8 generation lol.
It's like thanos (GM) finally got all of it's stones lolllzzz

Word has it that hotcakes haven't been selling that quickly as of late. Apparently, they don't make good "take out".
For the life of me, I don't understand why after spending even a little time here on the forum people waste their time trying to find a new C8 from a small local dealer. Almost every (if not all) small local dealers are either going to have all their allocations for 2021 spoken for already, or have a huge markup over MSRP to get a new 2021 model. Even if you are planning on going this route, I would at least put in a deposit with one one of the top 3 dealers so that there is a backup plan when the promise you think you have with the local dealer is broken.
I get that you might want to support your local dealer and you still can. You can support them by asking them to accept the courtesy delivery you will be looking for when one of the top 3 dealers sells you the car and wants to set up a courtesy delivery. That way you get the car you want sooner than your local dealer can get it for you and the local dealer gets the courtesy delivery fee paid by you for an hour or so of their time (in addition the the money paid to them by GM to PDI the car once it comes off the truck from the factory)… A win win situation.
Well, just to stir up the waters a bit..... ah why not it's the holidays !
I was cruising through all the typical online car sale sites and ran across this today. There were actually a couple of ads showing slightly below MSRP.
NOPE, I DID NOT CALL as it's Sunday and no one there.

why does anyone play the lotto??? Odds say you ain’t going to win. You play for the thrill...same concept. Some look for the dealer to get what they want for two reasons:
1 the hunt. Fun to dream research and find the dealer who can deliver. Then come on here and say FU you were wrong
2 to get the car sooner. I’m sure there is some small dealer who can get a car before the big guys at msrp somewhere in the USA right now. Good luck finding it

I get that, but why not first put down a refundable deposit with one of the big dealers, then go and have your fun beating your head against the wall... I mean hunting for a local dealer who will be able to get you the car faster from MSRP...

I’ll speak for myself. I didn’t know how this whole process worked. I want a bmw...I go to Bmw and get my bmw. I thought it was same for corvette. No offense this isn’t an exotic. Coming on here I learned a lot. You are right this is the best bet for anyone who has and listens to the knowledge shared on here. I’m still waiting for my local dealer to tell me what list number I am. 112 and counting for macmulkin though

I get that 100% for someone is new to the process and didn't come here first. However, lately there have been several long time members (like the OP in this thread) who come asking the question when I have got to believe they have seen countless other threads detailing how the local dealer let them down by promising a car at MSRP and quick delivery where either one or both of those promises were not kept in the end.
When I decided to order a C8 in August, the first call was to MacMulkin to put down my deposit. My second call was to my much smaller local dealer who I bought my C6 from back in 2005, who was very up front with me and said there was no way I would see a C8 from them at MSRP for at least a year or more.

lol that's not accurate. I saw that too. Inquired. That's not the price. Like i said in the past i don't know how dealers can get away with a stated price on their website and it being totally different later on.
Think about service after the sale. These big volume dealers give you a good price but then any problems you are on your own. I would rather pay a bit more from a local dealer that has excellent Corvette service. Of course depending on where you live finding such a dealer may be difficult. Contact your local Corvette Club and seek out info on service recommendations regarding any dealers in your area.

Since dealers usually make more money from their service departments than sales departments (especially true for smaller dealers), I cannot see a dealer with a good service department turning away any Corvette service business, regardless of where it was purchased. Now, finding a small local dealer with a good Corvette service department is going to be just about as much of a challenge of finding a small local dealer who will sell you a new 2021 C8 at MSRP assuming you have not already had your order in with them for the past several months or years.
Call Rick Conti he will do most any thing for a sale! Coughlin Corvettes
My 2 cents. Rick Conti didn't do anything for me but blow me off. I was on his "Ready" list but never got a phone call. Hard to believe I did not get an allocation from Coughlin Chevy in Columbus, OH when I inquired about a C8 early January 2019 but never got a phone call from Rick despite inquiring multiple times. I am local and even waited 2 hours for him when the C8 was unveiled in Columbus, OH and got a bench work order that never went anywhere. Rick likes his previous customer's and would service them before he would a new customer. This dealership also does not have an order list like MM where you know where your place is in line for an allocation. Bad business in my opinion!
Fast forward to today. Placed deposit with MM in April 2020 and my C8 is now at 3800 and pending delivery any week now.
If you are reading this. Do yourself a favor to avoid all the headaches and order from a larger dealership who is more organized and can ensure things are done correctly and fair based on when you inquired to make a purchase. Thanks McMulkin, i will do business with you guys for years to come!
