For the C8 moderators.... question. Is there some way to flag members who actually own a C8, vs members who do not have direct, personal, hands on experience with the car? A lot of the answers and opinions here make me question the provenance of the contributer. Others are 'spot on'. Some kind of 'flag" attached to the displayed name could help sort out fact from fiction.
Are you suggesting that just because someone doesn't own a C8 their comment, opinion, provided information is not valid, and conversely just because one does own a C8 their comment, opinion, provided information is valid? One can scroll through this forum, as well as the other gens' forums and find mounds of incorrect information provided by owners of said generations.

My first reaction, is that is a slippery slope. There are some members who have a C8 on order who know more about these cars than actual owners.
Actually....my first reaction was that was kind of a d*ck request.

As noted, we would have absolutely no way to know which members do and which don't. Owning one does not necessarily make one's response accurate, nor does not owning one make a response inaccurate. Use the forum for a while and you'll develop your own mental list of those that are generally helpful and accurate versus those that are not.
Just FYI, the way to have handled this question/suggestion is via PM, not in an open post:
Complaints, Suggestions & Questions If you have suggestions for the improvement of the Forum, questions or criticism of the Forum or its moderation, you are welcome to PM or e-mail a moderator. Please do not use an open thread for such messages, however.
That would include, but is not limited to discussions about who has been banned and why.
The work on the Forum's volunteer moderators is difficult enough without having folks calling them out in open threads.
