Default Reverse Tilt Side Mirrors

Has anyone determined how to save the settings for how far you want your mirrors to dip when reversing? I cannot seem to figure it out, and they just point to the ground every time. Maybe I didn't save the memory correctly, or maybe the reverse dip doesn't save as a memory?
Thanks!

I don't think you can choose the position the reverse mirror tilt function goes to. I believe it's simply an on/off on whether they will dip to the setting that the factory determined (the ground).

Well that sucks. How does one reverse into a parking spot looking at the ground? I want to know if I am about to hit the side of another vehicle. LOL

Press the left (I think) button on the mirror settings and that will turn off the down mirror setting in reverse.

On your infotainment , go to settings, then vehicle, scroll down, you can turn the feature on or off or just one side.

Ya, I am just trying to figure out if there is a way to set them to a certain reverse level instead of all the way down. But I do know where the setting is for turning them on and off.

On the C7 I put the mirrors where I want them and simply set the memory.

I can't deactivate that feature fast enough on every car I drive... Blows my mind when that happens...

I had it on an F-Type Jag and an M3 BMW and you could set how much tilt to put on it when in reverse and it was perfect and Very useful when reverse parking next to someone. However with this car it doesn't seem to be an option and it just goes straight to the ground. I will also be disabling this. I submitted a "GMIdea" to them to maybe consider this as an over the air update in the future to tie it into the programming of your seat/mirror(while driving forward) like some of their competitors. I know the submission likely wont go anywhere, but its the thought that counts. HA!

I turned it off and just do it from the switch whenever I want it to tilt down, I also like to park as close to the curb as possible to give me and the car next door more room for door opening which is where it comes in real handy.

Mine stopped working right, I miss it. When backing into a spot I could see the parking stripes

I happen to like it. When I'm parallel parking, I don't want to curb my wheel.

i don’t believe the intention was to help prevent sideswiping another vehicle, it was to prevent scraping your rims against the curb resulting in “curb rash”.

I have a work around for that if you are the only driver.
set 1 and 2 memory settings the same then change mirror position on setting 2 to your desired back up position settings
then save
when you desire to back up choose setting 2 to get your mirrors in the desired locations.

The mirror down setting is intended to help when parallel parking next to a curb. To back into a parking space, use the backup camera. It can even display lines to help get you centered in the space.

Can you move the position of the mirrors when they are tilted? Maybe it remember the last tilted position

Default Back up mirrors not returning to my saved position

I’ve got an issue with the back up mirrors settings not returning to my saved position after I put the car in drive. I’ve tried to save them back to desired angle but every time I back up the mirrors only come about halfway to my required angle. Anybody have similar experiences?

I had that problem with my C7. What triggered it in the C7 was if you interrupted memory position travel before it was finished. In my case the car would detect my wife's fob before it detected mine and start moving to her memory position. That in itself was frustrating because my knee would hit the hatch release and then I would have to get out and close it and be careful not to repeat the process. I would interrupt the travel by pressing my memory set button but that upset the mirrors. It was very unsettling to be merging onto the freeway in high traffic and find out my driver's side mirror was looking at the pavement. My workaround was to set only the passenger mirror to tilt down since I only used that feature when parallel parking. That way it wasn't a safety hazard when merging onto the freeway if the mirror didn't return to the proper position.

It was diagnosed as "operating as designed" and was never resolved. Perhaps a tech comment on the GM engineers that designed the system.
