The current selection of wheels don't really do it for me so I'll be looking for a set of black after market wheels in the $4-500.00/wheel range. I'd like to keep the wheel size to stocks specs. I know I can begin a search, but since many forum members have really done a lot of research, I'm asking for some input on the companies and styles out there. Thanks in advance.
I agree with you on the stock rim choices from GM. I have done a lot of research on after market options and decided to go with Variant Wheels. It is a cold forged rim that is offered in four different styles with three different finishes. I decided on the Radon Style. The rims are made with an offset so that the tires will be flush with the fenders. They also offer the exact stock size so you can use your tires and sensors that came with the car. They will come with center caps and lug nuts. The stock stingray center cap will not fit there rims as of now. They are working on that issue. The only issue is that it can be a 2 month wait. I ordered mine on Black Friday and won't receive them until sometime in February. This package will cost approximately 2K. There is a lot of good options out there. It just depends what your wants and needs are. Just sharing my choice. Best of luck with your decision.
There are several great forum vendors in the "C8 Parts for Sale" section that can help you. There are hundreds of choices now. You can also take a look at the thread on "Custom Wheels Spotted" post. Plenty of pics to keep you changing your mind. Enjoy!
Not an expert but this is what I have found out thus far.
I been searching for a few weeks now and have discussed several different manufacturers with the retailers on the forum.
I’ve been told that the MRR’s are made in China and there have been delivery issues with them and the base alloy while it is suppose to be the same as everyone else doesn’t appear that way when you look at the raw wheel prior to powder coating.
I have also found some HRE FF11 in oem sizes that are around $2400. This wheel is really nice with very good detail, but it has minimum concavity (depth on rear) 19x9 front and 20x11.5 rear.
Avant- Garde looks like a really nice wheel priced around $1900 and they come standard in a charcoal color. They also have a mid to max concavity on rear wheels. You can get them in 19/20 or 20/21’s.
Keep in mind the overall diameter of the wheel/tire combination stays the same wether you go 19/20 or 20/21. Obviously you will have less side wall on the tire on the 20/21. It’s a visual thing that makes the wheel appear that it fills the wheel well better than stock, that and depth or moving everything toward the outside closer to the edge of the fender opening.
