Default Coupe Engine Compartment

I’m up for the next allocation at MM in January and need to decide on purchasing a coupe or the HTC. One factor I wanted to consider on the coupe was how much dirt, dust and road grime are owners seeing in the engine compartment and how hard is it to keep clean, especially the rear window.

I figure there has to be a few of you out there by now that have some experience with this by now!

No problems. Initially had water spots when received but Meguiar's Water Sport Remover took care of those followed by 2 coats of Meguiar's Ultimate Black on all flat surfaces . At 4 months drove in the rain a few times and washed many times. Little dirt and no more water sports. I don't use a towel etc to cover the vents when washing but don't point the hose at them either.

Raise the trunk when finished washing and use a towel to remove what little dust/dirt is there. Have used a waterless cleaner spray a few times. Looks great with my Edge Red Engine Cover that matches the Edge Red Valve covers that are standard on all Vettes.

I've been wondering about the windows too. How hard is it to reach/clean the inside of the two engine compartment windows
; i.e. interior and hatch.

i like the open air and don't care about seeing the engine as I can't see it now in my C7, couldn't in my C6 or C4,and don't miss seeing it at all. Don't want gawkers leaning over to see the engine and possible scratching the paint. Don't wanna clean that window as I'm old and it seems difficult to do with contortions. It was hard enough dealing with my C6 coupe. Don't wanna have to wash my engine every time i wash the car. I keep my C7 engine compartment clean but I don't do it every time I wash my C7. Don't care about water spots in the engine compartment. Yep my C7 outside and inside is immaculate and would rather spend my time keeping parts I can see shiny and clean. I'm old and my priority is driving and not having to spend extra time because somebody is going to lean over and look at my engine.

I haven't been called by the dealer yet for an allocation to place my order. It has only been a month since I put down my deposit. I was pretty sure I wanted the convertible. But after getting on the Corvette forum every night and doing different builds I have come to the conclusion I want a coupe now. Some of the reasons I changed my mind is I looked back on last summer here in upstate New York and I think I only took my top off of my C7 coupe 5 times. I thought I liked the looks of the convertible as much as the coupe but the more I looked at them the vent in the rear deck turned me off reminding me of the old Corvairs vents in the rear deck. I also don't like the rear window glass doesn't roll down all of the way. Finally I decided being able to see the "mid engine" would compliment the fact that it is the all new mid engine platform. I too also worry about people leaning over the car to look at the engine but I rarely leave the car out of my sight so if someone wants to see the engine I will just pop open the rear hatch just like I pop the hood open on my C7 now when someone asks to see the engine. It's amazing how we can change our minds so quickly. I also was dead set on the color black but now I'm having second thoughts and looking at possibly Sebring Orange like my C7 or Artic White.

Not sure how this has anything to do with the requested information, but thanks anyway I guess!

I Graphene ceramic coated the entire engine compartment including the rear view window and plastic surround. Water beads up on everything now and when I blow my car off with my leaf blower I raise the rear hatch and blow the engine compartment off too. Viola! Not one water spot! I just touchup any remaining water with a towel.

I just blow compressed air on the motor to get the dust off of it and any wash water that may happen to be in the area.
I may even break down and wipe the engine off. Seems to always look nice with little effort. Yea, I get it, Corvettes are fun to baby.
