incorrect. the OP is not referring to the cheap textured plastic that GM has. Cheap and textured....not Carbon Flash
This isn't correct. Splitter and rocker panel covers together are part #84254456, the rocker covers only are part #84254466, and the splitter only is part #84718127.
according to ACS, I am correct. These are ACS pieces,, not GM...both in Carbon Flash.from ACS. you can get only splitter but not only rocker covers.

Some of you people need to understand what a carbon flash finish is. This thread is being complicated by many not understanding the OPs original ask. The GM pieces are NOT carbon flash.

My apologies, I was referring to post #1 in case people wanted to buy the factory parts separately. We all know what carbon flash is since that's what's used on the scoops and the front and rear fascia.
The reason I'm getting the rocker covers is that almost every picture I've seen on this forum of C8's shows dirt, small gravel and sand on those extensions. I know the designers added them for aerodynamic reasons but I can also see an area that quickly becomes peppered with nicks and scratches. As to it being painted flat black doesn't bother me. Flat show nicks less than glossy carbon flash will. In either case, I will also ceramic coat them. Just my 2 cents!

Yep as my pic shows it's toward the rear where a Tracker found the most debris thrown from the front wheels in his case rubber. In my C8 for the 2 months I drove without side skirts were I had pebble marks as well as under the standard rockers.
The C7 Carbon Side Skirts DO NOT require drilling a hole in the fender. They have a large flat area behind the rear winglet. The GM 5VM does require drilling a 3/8 inch hole on the side of the rear fender for a bolt. I used 3M tape as noted in pic but probably belt and suspenders.
Pic of Trackers Car showing where rubber hit. I drove my C8 for 2 months before my C7 Carbon delivered my side skirts and had pebble marks in the area as well as at the bottom of the rockers. Fortunately all covered by the side skirts.
GM 5VM requires drilling a 3/8 inch hole for a Bolt. The C7 Carbon does not. My C7 Carbon Side Skirts Installed. PDF of my Install: http://netwelding.com/Side_Skirts.pdf
I have ordered these from C7Carbon as well. Have not recieved as yet. My C8 is coming with the extensions. How difficult is it take the GM extensions offand install the C7 Carbon extensions?
^^^
Hmm, don't know but from what I have seen on the forum, should not be hard as the GM "extensions" versus the 5VM side skirts just attach with 3M tape on top and a few rivets underneath. Have to drill out the rivets. Just use a drill bit slightly larger than the rivet body (not the mushroom head!) I assume they are 3/16 or 1/4 rivets so would be ~1/16 inch larger.
The 3M tape will leave marks BUT the C7 Carbon Side Skirts will cover the rivet holes and where the tape residual might show.
