The owners manual says to set the start and stop times of the performance timer. Mine are set at 0 and 60 which is the default. My timer states accelerate to start. The timer starts but doesn't stop when my speed reaches 60. What am I missing? Does the car have to be in a particular mode? I've tried it in Sport and Tour mode but get the same results.
I'm going to try the PDR Timing overlay tomorrow. I'm guessing you have to stop the PDR in order to reset the timers?
All the C8 experts here and all I'm hearing is crickets.......
I have never run mine. I guess I need to try it. The way I read the manual it should work as you have done it.
"Performance Timer : Press the thumbwheel to enter the setup menu, then select Set Start Speed. Scroll to desired Start Speed, then press the thumbwheel to save it. While on this menu, to change the End Speed, scroll to End Speed and use the thumbwheel to scroll to desired End Speed. Press the thumbwheel to save it. On the next acceleration, the performance timer will record the time. Pressing the thumbwheel while the timer is running will cancel the timer if done before reaching the End Speed."
I tried mine last week for the first time. I just brought up Performance Timer and it said 'accelerate to start'. I correctly engaged launch control and the timer showed my 0-60 time when I was done. Sorry I don't have any other specifics- it just worked. Got a 3.5 second time in 35 degree weather, first time ever launching, by the way.
I did not look at the manual and just pushed the buttons to set it. I think if I remember you just need to set the parameters, be at a stop and hammer it. Very intuitive on the dic.
Set the start and stop times for 0 to 30. Drive normally and it should stop timing when you reach 30. In other words, you don't have to do 0-60s to test this thing.
I went out and changed the stop time to 40 mph. The timer worked in all modes upon acceleration. I then changed the stop to 60 and it works fine now. Almost like it had to be woken up.
FYI 2021 HTC non- Z51 (broken-in) 0-60 time was 3.2 sec (cold tires). The PDR timer screen also agrees with the performance timer. Only difference is that the Performance timer works to 1/10s where the PDR timer works to 1/100s.

I have not had this issue in my C8 but am having it in my CT4-V Blackwing and cant find anyone with the same issue other than you and one other with a BMW..
I have this same issue with my 2021 C8 Stingray LT2 Z51. 19 of 20 times the performance timer doesn't work. I've messed with all of the settings and tried it in every mode. Nothing changes the fact that it rarely works. It's just random. My local dealer says there's a known issue with it and there's currently no solution. Does that jive with what anyone else has experienced? Of all of the performance monitoring features the car has, that's basic the only one I want to use on a regular basis and it doesn't even work!
