Advice needed for first service

You can use your free service long before you hit 7500 miles. If you go in 1 year 1 day from purchase, the service will no longer be free.

The whole 7500 mile tranny thing is probably there for a reason. Doing it early wouldn't help just as doing an oil change early won't do any help. The tranny thing probably has more to do with breaking in the trans. The 2 quarts is for tracking the car. If you are not tracking the car that will be a complete waste of money. There is a lot of labor involved and the oil is made from gold apparently since it's so expensive.
Now, there is a question IF the dealer can get reimbursed for the Trans filter change at 12 months IF the car only has 4,000 or 5,000 miles. That is probably what I will have and will have the dealer try! They will be sufficient miles, IMO, that whatever clutch plate wear is going to occur - will. We'll see.

I wish GM would provide the minimum miles necessary to complete the DCT break-in for the filter change that would satisfy the warranty requirements. In this environment I'm probably not going to get close to 7500 miles in a year. It's possible that the break-in is complete within the first 500 miles but they wanted to make the DCT filter change coincide with the first engine oil change.
At the very least, give me the DCT filter when I bring it in for the engine oil change and let me install the filter when the break-in is complete.

I watched an Emelia Hartford video in which she and her crew disassembled the DCT out of her souped-up C8, and she expected the clutch plates (seen in that great photo you posted) to be smoked because of all the extra HP her car has and how hard she'd pushed it, but they looked new.

I intend to do my freebee at close to the one year point and have them do the DCT filter at that time as well - since it is FREE (I like Free). I will do the DCT filter again at 7500 miles. I will also have the dealer add the additional two qts of oil to the DCT - unless we find that that adversely affects mileage in some way. That will surely come up on the forum as members get more data.
I will be surprised if I have 2000 miles a year on the car. So it will be 3 plus years for me to 7500 miles. I may wind up doing the DCT filter at the same time I do brake fluid flush every two years.

I tried to get a free oil filter for the first change in my 2014 Z51 (because could not get the proper filter at AutoZone etc, that day) As The Parts Manager said, it only is "free" if they do the service and provide GM with a signed service order! Best I could do was a 35% discount! I did all my own oil changes in Vettes but will let the great Corvette etch at the Courtesy Deliver dealer do the C8.

I don't think 500 miles would be enough. Look at the cutaway I posted and the number and size of of clutch plates and friction disks. As someone mentioned, when stopping the slippage (that occurs when below 3 mph) gets smoother even past 1000 miles. I notice that at 1500. They have 7500 miles for a reason but as I said, hope my dealer can get it paid for at the ~4000 I'll have at 12 months.

Yeah, it's probably below his pay grade, but way above CC's too. I suppose the correct route to take would be to ask your local Chevy dealer's service advisor, who should ask his service manager, who should consult with the GM area rep. That would require a customer who knows how to talk to people and a service department willing to do their job, so results may vary.

Let's say I only get 2000 miles on my car this year before I need to do the first engine oil/filter change and I also have them do the DCT filter change. I don't do my next DCT filter change until I've put another 22,500 miles on my car, and then every 22,500 miles after that (or when the life monitor tells me to).
Have I met my DCT maintenance obligation for the powertrain warranty?
