Fyi, it is a charger, not a maintainer like the Ctek. I used it to return some less than OK batteries back to a useful condition.

Obviously you didn't read the reviews.
90% (76% 5 star and 14% 4 stars).✔

I use these on my generator, ATV, etc.:

Cheap enough to have several and not have to alternate. It is a true maintainer with a microprocessor, not just trickle charger. I also have a good maintainer for the "good" cars but wouldn't be concerned about the chap ones in a pinch.

I read the one star reviews to see if there was anything consistently poor. I have brought back batteries from the grave with my Optimate 6 by Tecmate, it's not some cheap POS either.

  • You select between Auto, AGM, Motorcycle, and Repair Programs. Nothing else is needed by the user.
  • The only difference between Auto and Motorcycle is 8 vs 1.5 amp max charge rates possible.
  • AGM program uses a ramp up in voltage then down, then off (no charging) for a few seconds, then back on again. This is to prevent "boiling" the water out.
  • The repair cycle Ramps voltage up and then back down (pulse charging) vs keeping a sustained high voltage. If the battery checks out OK, repair will turn off within a few seconds!

I'm impressed (You know that is hard to do - LOL). For a $27 Charger that functions excellent with a complete digital display that shows you everything as it is going on - AMAZING!
I just bought a couple of those chargers because of your review. Thanks for sharing.

It will be interesting to hear your impression once you use it. Report back. The nice part is Amazon's 30 Day try it & then keep or return policy. It wasn't a high ticket item, but being inexpensive mad me try it and welcome the surprise on how well it works. If I didn't like it, I would certainly have returned it.
