Default Loaner C8

Leroy Engineering is offering a custom trailer hitch for C8 owners...
So what's the catch? The first customer who's willing to loan them their C8 will be rewarded with a new custom trailer hitch at a reduced price. They've made a swell looking hitch for the C7 and are now wanting to design / engineer one for the C8 but are in need of a loaner car to make the fitment measurements. Located in Chardon, OH 44024. Give Jonathan a call 440-478-5854.

I track my vehicle and I love to drive it, For those that use this car as it was meant to be used (IMHO) this trailer from Leroy Engineering is the greatest thing ever. I find it amusing that the 30+ track days I do every year everyone at the track comments on how great an idea it is yet for some people it somehow offends their sense of what is correct. I do not make fun of, or look down on people who get enjoyment in other ways. I find the best way for ME to enjoy my car is on the track. I love driving it so why put it on a trailer to get to the track?

Be interesting to see what they do. My plan would be to make one similar to what I fabricated for my C6. Attached mine to the rear C6 Cross member.

Fabricated receiver on right

For C6, receiver was between NPP exhaust pipes. Covered with vintage Vette Logo when not in use

No room to store small trailer so mounted above Vette! Bit scary at 1st but never a problem!

For C8 could mount to the Carbon Fiber rear cross member and have receiver available by removing license plate through a hole made behind in body.

My desire for the small 1-1/4" receiver is to attach my modified Yakima bike carrier and take my road & mountain bikes from here to there. Guarantee that hauling a boat or ??? is out of the question. Though a special light Leroy trailer is being considered for taking tires, etc. to track events.
For example, here are a couple of pix of my Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cab with the small receiver (designed by Willwood Systems) installed behind its hinged license plate being put to good use. It's much easier to load a bike on a solid rear carrier than to hoists it up on to a roof rack. Plus, on the C8 that roof rack would need to be secured partially on the rear glass window.

Some people what to haul race tires to the track in a very small trailer shown above. Or as someone has mentioned a bike rack, rather mounting the bike rack to the roof as others have shown in other threads.

Some people just want to be jerks, instead of considering that other people don't use their car in the same way or have the resources to take a separate truck to the track or buy a truck and trailer to haul the car to the track.

Really, some people need to focus on being considerate. Make 2021 the year to become a nicer person, it costs nothing and pays lots of dividends. One of the best investments you can make. I am not as nice as I want to be, so I continue to work on myself.

Like someone said, the only use for that thing is to haul race wheels/tires to and from the track. Because most corvette owners probably trailer the car there. Some people might not have that option or don't want to have that as an option and want to actually DRIVE the car. To and from the race track, then back home, and probably go out that same night for a bite to eat and destroy supercars out there.

There are lambo guys that do this.

So if they can do it, we can too. At least NOW. Because of the C8.

The C8.....changing the corvette history right before our eyes!!! This is awesome!!!

I have to drive my C7 300 miles to the track and 300 miles back. I have a set of rear wheels that have to get switched out for the track and I currently have to go with 1 wheel in the trunk and 1 in the passenger seat meaning my wife can never join me on trips to the city when I want to hit the track. I long considered a Leroy trailer set up as I do not own an enclosed car trailer because I would have no where to store such a massive thing at my house. Though I never pulled the trigger, I was always interested in them as they would make track life so much easier for a fraction of the cost/hassle of an enclosed hauler.

My friend uses his for his bikes. Not on a c8.....on a c5 Works well......

I loaned one of my c7s to corsa for a design car.....they gave me an entire system. A discount only seems light.

Yep, my C8 is the 6th Vette and all DDs. I actually use the Frunk and Truck. As you note some who track bring tires and tools in a small trailer - no big deal! Some only drive to the Counter Club on the weekend, their choice!

I try to be nice to those who ask questions and who are themselves. The others I respond in kind. Not as nice as I could be to them, my choice!

Great, but no more room in my 3 car garage! My 6 Vettes have been DD's since my 1st, a 1988. Also had an S10 pick-up when we built our current house 25 years ago. But when I built my street rod when I retired 20 years ago something had to go! Still have the street rod! Wife's car sure won't be left out!

I can't imagine that somebody that has a C8 can't afford a second vehicle.
