Default Connected navigation system1

So, I am submitting my order for a 2LT vert today. According to the build sheet, the "Connected Navigation System-1" that comes with the car requires a paid plan. So do I understand that the Maps, etc., are not pre-loaded on the car's nav system? If true, then it's really no different then the On Star driven "navigation" system in my wife's equinox. No On Star subscription, no on board Navigation? It's not a deal killer in any case, but is that right?

That's not right. Factory navigation doesn't require any sort of OnStar plan. I have a 3LT and no OnStar and the navigation works just fine.

Do you have the "Hot Spot" activated in your car? Maybe they are talking about that...

Navigation and Maps comes with the Vehicle. The "Connected Navigation System-1" requires an OnStar subscription meaning you can load maps and routes on your phone through the myChevrolet app and then it will push to the car and load the route onto the NAV in the car. Many people who have a smartphone and connect to the car, just use either their CarPlay or Android Auto to get maps and navigation.

No. You can use the built-in NAV feature without using the (paid) Connected Navigation. The main feature of that is Real-Time traffic information.

Here is an explanation of what is included in Connected Navigation: https://my.gm.com/how-to-support/ons...ted-navigation

2LT and 3LT come standard with IOT:

IOT Audio system, Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system with connected Navigation, 8" diagonal HD color touchscreen, AM/FM stereo, Bluetooth audio streaming for 2 active devices, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capable, enhanced voice recognition, additional memory for in-vehicle apps, cloud connected personalization for select infotainment and vehicle settings. Subscription required for enhanced and connected services after trial period.
While it is not stated, this also includes built in Navigation (no connection needed - other than signal for GPS satellites to determine your position). The map database is on a SD card which is included.
