Just made an appointment with dealership to lower my C8 1”. I will be providing lowering kit since I have the front lift. I was quoted $700 (6 hrs labor). Can anyone tell me if this sounds reasonable...I thought it would be much lower. BTW, this is the same dealership I recently paid $450 to install high wing. I sure would save a lot of $ if I could do these things myself; I envy those who can and do!!!
Doesn't sound crazy but maybe a little high. I've been hearing more like $550. The dealer installed my high wing, which included drilling it, for $350, which I thought was very reasonable. Unfortunately $700 is not a lot of money anymore and certainly doesn't get a lot of labor.

That seems to be a good price if it includes the alignment too. I have two prices to do mine and one is $1500 and the other is $1100, but I'm out in CA and both of these quotes include an alignment after it's lowered.

That's spot on with my quote in the SF/ Bay Area for shop time. Don't forget a re-alignment which will be another 2 hrs.

The price does include alignment...I live in Oklahoma so that would explain the cost difference :—)

Wish I had access to your shop...thanks for the information.
I forum member charged you that much to use a spanner wrench and maybe 2 hrs of his time..... I though we were all friends here
Please. Don't go spewing false information like that.
It takes longer than 2 hours and is way more involved than simply turning a spanner wrench. As per GM's specifications the car MUST be corner weighted after to ensure proper balance, the shocks likely have to be removed to make it easier, and it should be aligned after. Maybe you guys like hacking up i.e. RICING out your new Corvette but I will do it properly as GM intended.
BTW I was quoted $700 by MacMulkin, I will be taking it back in the Spring to have it done.

Typo on your part, I said it was a forum vendor.
And yeah, if it was just turning a spanner wrench I would have done it myself. It's more complicated than that and with experience still takes 3.5 hours

Both of you....Um I have ready MANY of people do it in 30-45min per corner this post the OP did it in 4hrs and in the comments another guy did it in30min for 1 side...... https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...coilovers.html
Now as far as ricing it out..... that would be to cut or compress the stocks coils.... GM put coilovers on it to ALLOW the owner to easily do this. Is corner weight needed? if you are tracking your car yes other wise NO
