I could swear that someone posted recently a tip for renewal or new subscription of Sirius where it was a great price and you even got a small gift. All my attempts to locate it in the search feature were unsuccessful. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!
Just call them and say you won't pay more than $5/month. I have Sirius on 2 cars and pay $12.12/month total. You do need to call just before the contract is up or they will renew at the current monthly rate.
I don't no about gift, but what I do I tell them, I only listen to about dozen channels, and give me price I can live with, they usually come back some bull ****, and keep insisting, and I get $60.00 for the year.
Then couple days before it expires I call, and ask for the same deal, and they don't argue just set me up for another year.
I just downloaded the Sirius XM app yesterday on my iphone. You go to their website and create an account using your VIN to sign up. Once you create an account you can use the app (you cannot sign up using the app alone).
My account showed its good until September so that would be a full year. My experience with Sirius is that when you get close to the end of your term they keep sending you notifications of "special deals" to continue.
You can run the Sirius app through Apple Car play. Its basically the same thing as getting the satellite but the interface is actually better. For example you can see the other songs being played in real time on your favorite list and when you switch, it sure seems to me it starts at the beginning of the song.
I think without the satellite (aka using cell streaming) it runs like $5 a month. As long as you have good cell coverage you can have it run that way.
To me the Sirius business model is becoming obsolete over the years as people have unlimited data plans and 4G networks are everywhere. No need to get it from the satellite.

AFAIK the gift in the past was a home setup, now with the app those are completely useless. The recent gift was an Amazon Alexa. I won’t begin the debate on having one of those in the house as my hat’s don’t contain any aluminum foil.
And yes, anyone who pays for than $5+tax per month is a fool.
^ Also, the key to minimizing your headache is to say “cancel my subscription” at the earliest opportunity when you call. Then it will take about 90 seconds of negotiation.
Yup, I mark on my calendar the day my subscriptions expire. Day before, I call and tell them I am canceling unless they renew at same rate. A few times in the past I had to cancel but last couple of years they have been working with me to renew.
Yes $5 a month offer gives you a free echo. The $5 a month doesn’t include Howard Stern channel. The ultimate channel deal includes Stern and is double at $119 yearly. Dealt with Sirus XM today with my Goldwing.
Old technology. Just buy a $20 USB stick on eBay preloaded with 1,500 songs from your favorite genre and call it a day. I long ago gave up the yearly hassle of negotiating deals with Sirius. Their playlists are crappy and overly repetitive.
