For anyone who has the Carbon Flash wheels, is the black glossy? My wife - in her ongoing quest to harsh my fun by inserting reality - pointed out that most black wheels on the roads today look like someone stole their hubcaps. Now that that image is in my head, it has jaded me. I love black wheels, but it does seem true for black wheels that are dirty or less shiny. And from the pictures I have seen, tough to get a good sense, so looking for input on how these wheels look in person in terms of shine/gloss.
I also assume that the glossier wheels are easier to clean, but interested in anyone's experience with the Carbon Flash ones (or the Trident ones).

Before I changed to BC Forged wheels I had the carbon flash. This is after wrapping the machined edge in CF vinyl and polishing and ceramic coating the wheels. They came out nice but from 10' away, they just looked like a black void.............or someone stole my hubcaps. hahaha

^^^This, that's the problem I have with any black wheel. You get beyond 10 feet and the wheel is just a blur. You don't get to appreciate the design details within the wheel design. Polished aluminum, chrome, satin finish, gunmetal finish, painted aluminum wheels all let you see and appreciate the wheel details. They also offer a contrasting view to the painted surfaces on the vehicle.

I like your wife, I call black wheels junk yard wheels because cars with them look like a beater missing its hub caps on the way to the junk yard.
@Dashracing These look great! Got any photos of those mounted? Isn't that a special order color? I'm looking for an option for OEM wheel/tire size that will look great on Artic White.

The BC Forged wheels are all built to order in custom sizes, offset and finish. Here are a couple photos of them on my car (arctic white).

Don't listen to these old farts...Or your beautiful Wife...A nice black wheel with a lot of space to see through them (like the spyder design below) highlights the rotor and caliper, and compliments the black trim pieces on the car. Painted silver wheels clash with everything (unless your car is silver) and just look cheap. And, for what its worth, I prefer a nice satin finish over a glossy finish...Just looks more expensive and sinister...IMO.

I totally agree with his summation! I think a tastefully designed black wheel will make any Corvette "more badass" looking!
I’ve had black wheels on my 2 c7s. The z had such a tight design it was ugly to clean. The problem black wheels is keeping them clean. You think a black car is hard to keep clean, add in brake dust especially from z51 pads.
But the c8 wheels are easier to clean and if you do so they will have a gloss appearance. Hit some water, run in rain, back to dull.

Gloss black HRE F11
when they are clean you will notice them
You can't fool mother nature. Black is a color that absorbs all light. Fundamental physics. Pure black does not reflect visible light. If you really want people to see your wheels then get white wheels. White reflects all visible light.
