I have ordered a new C8 without the Z51 package. It's a 2021 so I was able to add the suspension system I wanted. One thing I was not able to add was the back spoiler. So, I went on line and found what is supposedly a correct spoiler, and plan to have it installed by the dealership when it arrives. Has anyone else done this? And what if anything did you learn that I should know about this before I have them install? Thanks for your help.
I got lucky, when I picked up my C8. I mentioned to the salesman, I wish I would have ordered the low spoiler. He said,
your timing is perfect. Someone who ordered their C8, had the low spoiler, and was going to order the high spoiler. He
said, he would talk to that person. I ended up getting their low spoiler, in torch Red, and getting it installed by the dealer
for $500, including the price of the spoiler. I must admit, that the timing was good, and its the same color as my car.
Ask you salesman, maybe he can help you

Yes, I would think a competent body shop should be able to do the install. Question the shop staff on how they would go about it and you should get a good idea on whether they know how to do it correctly.
Yes , you can order a spoiler from parts department and get it installed I have a Matrix Gray / Red Interior . Non-Z51 . I had a serious situation with my C8. It was at the dealer for 38 straight days for factory miss installed J bolt in the speed sensor assembly . ABS, Emergency Brake and Speed Sensor module issues. GM gave me $1,500 compensation at Criswell , in Maryland .. New carbon flash spoiler installed last Wednesday , total includied labor was $1,000 . with $500 for other goodies including battery protect , cargo nets , cargo liners and wheel locks .. Ron , service director persuaded GM to make the situation satisfying to me .. I recommend Criswell , Mike Furman and the whole staff .. Before and After without and installed spoiler .....Vette Ed

If it's their 1st install have them watch the video in the attached Draft PDF I made since my plan was to install my own: http://netwelding.com/C8_High_Wing.pdf
Or print the PDF and give it too them. There are several video's BUT this fellow has excellent full details (all but drilling the holes as this was a Z51.) I had ordered the high wing and would have given this doc to the excellent Vette mechanic at my Courtesy Delivery dealer as my PDI was his 1st C8. It was constrained 2 weeks before my build. After seeing my Z51 had my LBR painted spoiler (when I thought it was to arrive in black) I'm happy with the look and will not bother.
I'm surprised the spoiler police haven't chimed in yet about upsetting the aero balance of the car without the front spoiler to compensate for the increased rear down force. If this is just a touring car and won't be going crazy above 80mph when the aero stuff really starts to work, you will be just fine.
Thanks, I was also wondering about that. I am likely to occasionally take the car north of 100, but probably not above 140. And when I do that, I normally don't drive that fast for more than a few seconds (don't want to risk a ticket, and figure I'm more of a target when I drive like that for extended periods of time). I don't know much about aerodynamics. Is it likely to make the car unstable/dangerous at that speed without the front air dam that would normally come with the Z51 package?
