The wireless charging location is not a “mount” it is a charger. You can place your phone in the console connected to the USB port. It is possible to place a phone in the charging location and plugged in the USB port.

Yes of course, but they didn’t seem to want to put their phone in the console. Maybe they put a gun in there and having the two together could lead to a cracked screen. Really the charging location is best used by the passenger.
I guess you could suction cup a phone to the dash or infotainment screen if you don’t like the cup holder location.
