Default Museum Experience

My wife and I picked up our new Red Mist 2LT Friday at the museum and I must say the experience is worth every penny. Everyone was really nice and the send off made my wife feel like the princes she is. Significant options include the mag ride, exhaust, and GT2 bucket seats in natural Napa leather. The color is awesome in the bright sun. We spent the day in Bowling Green driving around and getting accustomed to the car before our trip home to Louisiana the next day.

It took me about 5 minutes to get accustomed to the rearview camera mirror and I really like it, especially in the day time. There is too much glare and haziness at night however and I switched back to the standard mirror. With the wing mirrors adjusted properly, there is no problem with blindside for me and the mirror warnings are accurate. The car was in Tour mode when we left the museum to drive around and it was way too quiet for me. I switched to My Mode which I set up for tour suspension and sport steering and brakes and track exhaust. Much better. The tour mode suspension is very compliant and comfortable yet sporty enough for normal driving. The sport brake mode is a must. We only averaged 29 MPG coming home and drove in the steady rain for the last 5 hours. The wipers work great and the rear view camera mirror was clear and bright. I don't know if it's the fact that I never really put my foot in it before the 500 miles or if its that torque is limited before then, but the engine really came alive after it turned 500 miles. The last 55 miles was on a two lane road and passing in the rain was fun. No drama, just hard quick acceleration, great traction and control. It feels like a 500 HP go cart. I'm impressed.

My wife thought it was on fire when we pulled into the garage as there was steam boiling up around the headlights which I'm guessing was the rain water evaporating off the front radiators. The house didn't burn down overnight so all is good. Waiting for it to warm up a little and wash her, the car, not my wife.

Excellent! We’re doing it also, hopefully the end of April, early May.

I took museum delivery in October with my son and thoroughly enjoyed it. We drove the Natchez Trace Parkway from Nashville back to New Orleans. Beautiful drive in the fall.

While this comment isn't about the museum experience it is a follow up on washing the car the next day. It definitely has a lot of nooks and crannies to clean but the hardest part is wiping down the engine bay and cleaning the the rear windows. She has really wide hips and reaching in far enough to wipe those surfaces by hand is a challenge for a comfortably built person like me with shortish arms by comparison. I tried using my window washing wand and it works OK but doesn't reach the tight spots. There is also a gap at the bottom of the rear hatch window that is impossible to reach by had or wand, at least for me. I had to stuff my towel through the gap and pull it back and forth to clean and dry that part.

omg yes this was the only downside of museum delivery.. it's pretty wild how much water spray gets inside the engine bay too. I know it's not too big a deal but that surprised me.

Did you stay in the 50 mph speed limit.

@proeagles I am in Slidell and will do museum delivery in a few months. My order with MacMulkin should get matched to an allocation in March. I would love to see your car in person. The color looks great in pictures. I have a yellow C7 and have been leaning toward accelerate yellow but I am a little worried about how green it appears. My other choice is the red mist.

Don't know anything about the 50 MPH speed limit but I did stay under 4000 RPM as instructed and drove without the cruise control as instructed. My speed varied any where from 65 to 85 never really getting over 2500 RPM except when entering the freeway where I would take it up to 4K.
