Default Nacelles wrap

I love and prefer the Carbon Flash-painted nacelles and body-color roof. I've yet to see any actual costs that anyone has paid to have it wrapped vs paying $1300 from the factory. I've read many pro's/con's to getting it wrapped, but no numbers to do it yourself or have the professionals do it.

Is there supposed to be a question here, or did you just make this thread as a statement?

I think most places would do it for under $1K. Anywhere from $500-1000 is my guess.

I feel like a question was implied. Let me ask though: Does anyone have any experience getting the nacelles wrapped?

Like my first wife, a wrap is not forever. My guy said 5 years plus borrowed time. This being S. AZ where hawt is what hawt is. And a DD that will be outside most of the day.

My main issue is if you wrap you will have an edge that you can feel and others may notice it if that matters. Although $1295 is expensive it is painted carbon flash vs. just glossy black wrap so it matches other parts of the car.

$650 is the max i'm willing to go before it's just worth it to have it come from the factory already painted.

The reason I want to wrap instead of factory paint is so I can change it down the road if I want to. To me, that is a nice option to have, assuming I can get a good quality wrap done in a nice carbon fibre look. If I spend $1,295 for the factory nacelles then I'm stuck with them....which isn't a bad thing so much but I like to have the option. It's not about money for me.

Vinyl wrapping will never be as nice as factory paint, and won't last as long. Vinyl wrap just doesn't have the smoothness or gloss, and is very easy to scratch. If you want a better quality material, go with black PPF like STEK Dynoblack, but it's expensive, as it's PPF. It's more glossy, has 'depth' to it, will look good for much longer and won't damage easily. If I was buying a HTC, i'd go with the factory carbon flash roof and nacelles.
When I wanted to do my A-pillars and roof in black, I compared vinyl (3M 2080) to the Dynoblack and went with the Dynoblack PPF. I'm glad I did, even though it cost much more. It'll last as long as the rest of the PPF on the car.

Appreciate the advice. Since I want to have the option of removing the black down the road if I get tired of it, what would be your best guess on the cost to do the nacelles, A pillars and roof in Dynoblack PPF?

Since they didn't carry Dynoblack and they had to order a whole roll just for me, I had to pay for the whole roll of Dynoblack. My A-pillars, roof and part behind the roof cost me about $600. I did get to keep the leftovers and have been using it on other parts of the car.
See if your installer carries black PPF; you may not have to pay for a whole roll. That being said, I've also heard varying costs up to about $800/1000 for doing a HTC in black ppf the way you want it. Please do let us know what your estimate is when you get it - it's good info to know.

Thanks for the info. I'm ok with $800-$1,000 range as long as it gives me the option to change it. It's going to be a while before I get any kind of estimate since, at last count, I am 786 on MacMulkin's list for my C8 HTC....but your info will help me decide on options when the time comes to finalize everything. Have a great day and stay safe.

Of my coupe? Not sure if that was addressed to me.

Anyway, I snapped a pic of a piece of Dynoblack and 3M 2080 stuck to the same surface so you can compare the two. Dynoblack, being PPF is thicker, but is also smoother/glossier.

Umm...lots. I went to the hatch, not all the way to the glass because I like the distinctive 'Transformer Autobot logo' shape of the hatch window, and didn't want to lose that unique outline from the back. I didn't want to extend it back to the 'nacelles' which mimics the HTC, even though that also looks nice.

I think I know what you're envisioning - there's another member who has done the same here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1602695645
Looks great, but I just really like the look of the car with the A-pillars black as well.
