have you been perusing this forum? Most of us waited 12 + months to see an allocation come through. Those putting deposits down now are expecting significant wait times. Walking into a dealer and getting an MSRP car off the lot would be fantasy. It certainly wouldnt "sit". I think perhaps its easier to get a Moderna shot than a C8 right now
I'm getting a Modena shot Tuesday, My C8 isn't coming till end of Summer. lol
Here it is sitting in a dealer showroom. I spoke to a salesman. The deal fell through for the person who ordered it and they sold it over the phone to a guy out of state for MSRP. He told me their Sales Manager will not sell over MSRP because it hurts allocations. It’s awaiting its new owner. Lucky guy. 2LT with the Z51 package.
So it wasn't available. How could sales price hurt allocation? I doubt GM knows, or cares, what the dealers sell each car for.

No it wasn't available. It had been there for a few days and the buyer found it online just like I did and bought it over the phone. They were waiting for the new owner to come and pick it up.
Dealers get allocations based on the numbers of types of vehicles sold. That's why in rural areas you see a lot of trucks on Chevrolet lots and very few, if any, Corvettes. This dealer is in a suburb of Atlanta, and there are a lot of high-end cars on the road here. They want to sell more of the C8s to be able to get more allocated to their dealership so they need to sell more. That's why they won't sell for over MSRP. The dealers who already get a bigger allocation of Corvettes are the dealers selling them at a premium. Those cars will sit longer than a C8 that is selling at MSRP but it won't hurt those dealers allocations once they sell - and they will sell.
Go to Chevrolet's website and see the nationwide inventory of 2021 Corvettes. They are all at MSRP. Then go to Auto Trader and search for a new 2021 Corvette. You will see a lot more there than you will on Chevy's website and very few at MSRP. That's where the dealers selling at a premium advertise their cars. You don't see them on Chevy's website in inventory.
