I am attending a track day this weekend. Rented transponders are to be attached to the front of the vehicle, low to the ground, with at least 3 zip ties. Can anyone suggest the best place to put it?

How big is it? Only place I can think of to zip tie it would be to the hex grill in front of a radiator. As long as it doesn't block much air.

I won't know the size until I get there. The problem with the hex grill is vibration might abrade the surface. I will check the area behind the front license plate cover and see if it's doable. I wasn't going to rent a transponder since I have the PDR but the sponsor uses the lap times to pre-grid the next session. Perhaps they will accept my PDR recording lap times for staging.

Can you hook it to the middle of the front sway-bar?

If you're going to track your car then tow hooks (front & rear) are recommended. Easy to install and you can removed them after your event week-end. Then attach the rented transponder & cradle w/zip ties to the front tow hook.

The front tow hook is a great idea. I have one installed front and back so I'll give it a a try. Of course I'll have to keep a pair of diagonal cutters available just in case I need to use the tow hook. Thanks.
