Default C8 Changes Once Ordered

Hey guys, I just officially placed my order on my 2021 C8. I have now realized that I should've opted in for the performance exhaust as I have the 2LT package only.

It's been accepted for production now and was wondering if I can still opt in for it?

And if so, is it worth getting the performance exhaust?

Thanks

I opted not to get it as the price point was too steep. I can put an aftermarket exhaust system eventually if I want. It's nice to hear the engine revs but ultimately the look of the car is what steals the show and thats always gonna stay.

I'm pretty sure that once the order has hit status 3000 that you can no longer make changes. If you're still at 1100 or 2000, then not an issue doing so.

If you get an after market exhaust, can you still put it in stealth mode when preferred?

An aftermarket exhaust of any quality is going to cost you double what the performance exhaust option costs. Even more if you want selectable modes.

You may be correct but I would argue that, as with previous vettes and other cars in general, aftermarket exhausts can be excellent choices and I'll take my chances on them being better than the NPP.

Okay I guess I can't make any changes then. Thanks for the response!

Save 2000 now spend 4000 later and have no control over the valves... Solid logic.

Do after market exhausts still give you the option to change how loud you want it through the on-screen or is it separately wired?

Not unless you had the NPP exhaust. Without that, the car has neither the wiring for the valves nor the software to control them.

If the car came with NPP, you can get aftermarket systems that will accept the valve actuators from the OEM exhaust and work with the car's software. If the car didn't have NPP, then there's no wiring or software to control the valves even if you add an aftermarket exhaust with valves.

For the C7, there was at least one exhaust system that used it's own valve control system. I'm not sure if anyone is doing that for the C8.
