Default Lowering Z51

I am checking out the lowering options on the Z51. I see the tool available to lower the z51 coilovers .7” inches.

Do people generally go this route or swap out and do lowering springs?

pros/cons?

I have front lift and magnetic ride, lowered 1" in front and about 3/4" in rear with Cicio Front End Lowering Kit.

If you have front lift you are very limited. But I’m not really seeing a need to massively lower my Z51. 1/2” will be perfect.

You must have MSRC to have the adjustable spring perches. If you have the front lift and MSRC, only the rear has the adjustable spring perches. No MSRC, no adjustable spring perches.

So, with the front lift you don't have the adjustable spring perches on the front. You'll have to go with something like Paragon Lowering Collars.

I just lowered mine this weekend with Paragon lowering collars on the front end lift and adjustable in the rear. I'm very happy with the results compared to the stock height....

Still waiting for my back ordered wheels..

That looks amazing. Not to get off topic but what is on your front bumper? Are those canards? Where did you get those from?

Yes, they are front canards/dive planes. I handcrafted them from fiberglass replicating the shapes in the front splitter...

Drivers side....Fabricating opposite sides is rather difficult but not impossible using measurements for angles and contour gauges for shapes....measure ten times...cut once.

The design follows the contours of the body while hugging the car...I shot them with Carbon Flash base coat/clear coat to match the rest of the trim on the car. You can also see how I picked up on some of the shapes from the grill inserts and front splitter...

Many props to you. I’ve always loved canards myself plus functional.

Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to complete these?

I thought MSRC has no impact on the threaded shock collars, and that was a Z51 deal...

Looks good. I can't tell from your photo if the mbz is a 63s or not if so, have you broken the 500 miles on your vette to compare two? I have the 63s, but unfortunately have not hit 500 miles yet on the vette

Well, yes and no. For 2020 Z51 (with or without MSRC) had the adjustable perches. For 2021, either Z51 (with or without MSRC) or MSRC alone gets you the adjustable perches. In all cases, the front lift eliminates the front perches.

This is incorrect. You need to have Z51 to have the adjustable coilover shocks. MRC makes no difference at all... I have a 2021 Z51 with MRC and ALL Z51's have adjustable shocks. (again except if you have the front lift. then you need the collars.)
