I like skunk's photo because it shows what a real world C8 looks like underneath, not a display car.

Does anyone recommend putting a coating on the bottom of the car? I’ll be keeping it in my driveway (don’t have a garage) a block from the beach (yay salt air) and will be driving it year round?

The bottom of the car is mostly covered in plastic panels. Wont do you much good. The salt air gets into everything.

Check the quoted post in my post. He didn't have a picture posted. He later edited his post to correctly post the picture. Since there was no picture, I posted some. Color me unimpressed by you.

The C8 should be very aerodynamic with such a smooth underside to the car.

With him being a newbie with only 3 posts after 8 months on the forum, qualifies as a lurker. He'll learn to not mess with the Z. 🤛

That seemed like such a teachable moment.

Here's another view I took during my PDI last year. It's of the rear underside.

Awesome, access to the oil filter without having to remove a bunch of panels during a simple oil change. Unlike most euro trash

That was the reason for the post. The oil drain bolt is not in the picture. It is slightly forward in the black panel, but it does not need to be removed.

I've seen a product called, I believe, Shark Hide, and it's applied as a liquid and dries to form a barrier against corrosion. I saw it featured on the Gearz tv program. They have a web site like everybody else if you want to see if you can find it. It looks like it dries clear, so there would be little or no visual change to the parts being treated.

The best part of the underside is where the Museum PDI techs sign it with the date of PDI.
