Just so we know exactly what Tadge said or didn’t say, here is a transcription from the 2021 Bash:
“So there are other aftermarket companies offering that (screens), and some of them, obviously we can’t test all of them, and we don’t make it our business to test them, but we keep an eye on what’s going on out there, and for many people, honestly, if you don’t live in a real hot weather environment, if you don’t track your car, um, and you’d like the additional protection, even though we can’t offer it, there probably are some aftermarket grill meshes that would be acceptable. However if you put them on your car, um, and you get overheating, um, that won’t be on us, that won’t be on GM”.
Knowing my Oil Temp didn’t change after adding screens (~170* F), nor did my Coolant Temp change (~180* F), I’m not going to worry about it. I’ll probably add the Trans Fluid gauge to my dash and occasionally check to see if it’s in the “middle zone” of the gauge, if so, I’ll consider myself good.

My friend and neighbor, Gettysburg Cliff found these plastic grill screens from a different manufacturer than we had purchased the front aluminum screens from. These plastic grill screens for the side intakes are a little tricky to install as the screen is held it tightly by friction. The screen is bent in a compound curve both top to bottom, as well as side to side. VERY nice fit once installed. The manufacturer has an excellent video to show how to do it. We did end up calling him to verify a few things and Eric couldn't have been more helpful. He even suggested a FaceTime video so he could see that we were installing correctly. GREAT customer service.
Here's a couple of pics to show the installed screens on the driver's side intake. Since he's not a supporting vendor, I can't post a link to his website, but you can PM me in case you can't google the source.
