In my OCD ness, I always try whenever possible park AWAY from other cars...you know...protect the "baby"! So at the golf course the other day I figured I'd take the C8 to the Netherlands of the parking area.
Now, we all have our precious vehicles that mean the world to us and so when we finished playing golf, I returned to the most desolate region of the parking area and there someone else's baby, his precious vehicle as well.
Well I just cracked up and the owner who just finished his round understood exactly why as well. Nice guy, just different passion...LOL

Honestly, I actually find it therapeutic spending time on my C8...daily wipe downs make it quicker and easer to maintain that showroom look...I'm good for about an hour...then I must drive it...LOL
That's great you can drive it! Many of us still waiting! I enjoy keeping them clean also part of retirement for me anyway and more so during this pandemic. Enjoy that beautiful ride!!!
Thanks GM....I've got 950 fantastic enjoyable miles on her. Through the years I've had some nice cars...friends that have $150,000 Mercedes, etc...
This to me is one of the finest riding and most comfortable touring car I've ever been in...everyone keeps saying "SMOOTH" from ride to shifts to braking.
I'm semi retired and like you...it's a pleasure to keep em looking good.

FWIW, I park all of my vehicles as far away from the entrance to anywhere I go. The exercise is a good thing. But if I'm in a small or crowded parking lot, I look for places next to nice cars and park right next to them making sure I give them enough room to get in their driver door.
We don't own these lots, so I'm never surprised when I go back to my car and see another car parked next to it. I have yet to find my car damaged by someone who parks next to me.
I can understand why he parked out there. If he parked close, someone might have brushed up against his car and gotten dirt all over their clean possibly light colored golf attire, which would have greatly upset them Nobody needs stress at a golf course. If that happened it would have removed some of his desired patina. It gives him street cred to have all that mud on there. Think of it like leaving you numbers and tire rubber on after going to the the track. With that everyone knows you have been using the car as they wish they could.
Good point FD...Most people are respectful, thank goodness. I too certainly don't mind the walk especially for peace of mind. I do find it humorous when I park in the lower 40, no one around me, plenty of empty spaces and a guy in their 20 year old beater parks next to me. CRACKS me up. Ya just gotta look at funny side.

I agree—we’re their wingman teaching them the best practices until they get a better whip. Never make fun of someone’s job, wife, or car and you’ll avoid a lot of conflicts! 😎
