Default Memory seat forgets setting

My '20, 3LT, Z51, HTC often times would not return to the saved driver position after entering and starting the vehicle (from the convenience enter / exit possition). Sometimes it would only go part way to the saved position, other times it would perform as I expect it should. Yes, key fob #1 was saved to setting #1. Yes, the convenience enter / exit option was selected 'on' in the driver settings. Could not figure out why sometime it worked... other time it would only go part way to the saved position. Pressing and holding the #1 seat setting recall button would have the seat resume travel to its saved position. Then I saw a video of a NCM Museum Delivery of a C8 and the museum guide said BOTH key fobs needed to be programed to a user and a seat setting saved to each fob for the seat memory to properly perform.
Hummmm... strange, but heck, I'll give it a try. The wife NEVER drives the Vette (she has her own BMW M340). Well, after associating a second driver to the #2 fob and programing #2 seat settings to it, my fob (the #1 fob) has consistantly performed as expected on automatic seat memory recall upon entering and starting the car. I don't get the 'why' or the 'reason'... but it works! So there. If you are experiencing a similar 'glitch', try it. I hope it helps.

I've never set my FOB #2. #2 has only been in the car once, to drive home from the dealer. My seat memory and everything moves to the right position.

Great information.. I'll just program both fobs to the same places.

Any chance when you programmed fob #2 that you reset the exit position slightly forward from the previous exit position. There is a travel limit sensor on the bulkhead behind the seat. If the seatback triggers that sensor, memory setting becomes erratic. It is even mentioned in the Owners Manual:

Seat Travel Limit
If the rearward or reclining seat or
seatback movement makes contact
with the carpet behind the seat, the
seat will automatically move forward
a small distance. If it remains in
contact, memory recall may not
complete. Move the seat and/or
seatback forward a small distance
away from the carpet behind the
seat and attempt the memory recall
again.
Note that there is only a single exit position:

If equipped, memory seats allow two
drivers to save and recall their
unique seat positions for driving the
vehicle, and a shared exit position
for getting out of the vehicle.
