Default Dirty engine?

Someone made a comment to me about a problem with engines lookng dirty on the C8. I wouldn't think it should be any different than a front engine. Maybe a little dust now and then . Anyone have problem with this?
Do you do anything extraordinary to keep your engine bay clean?
What about the rear window? Does it get dirty? Is it difficult to clean?

Nah not a major difference other than the added glass and deck, just depends on how much time one is will to invest cleaning and to what level will make you happy. I kept my Bora engine clean for 25 years, just takes a little time.

Have had mine 8 months. Wash the car normally then open the hatch. The little water that is there cleans up with a towel and I wipe dust off the engine cover and flat areas. Nothing unusual. The hatch window underside is harder but use a wand device designed for the inside of windshield. Works fine unless you’re OCD.

However had a lot of pine pollen for a long time this year. When over I washed the engine with the soapy car wash water and used a fine spry to rinse. Don’t expect I’ll have to do that again until pollen season again.

My experience with mid engine cars is that they get more dusty......so when I wash the car I spray the engine compartment including the rear window......but I am not fussy about keeping cars clean.........

I let my car sit during the winter in apartment garage and engine compartment has cobwebs on it. Wondering how to clean to make sure future it doesn't happen in future. I have an indoor cover on it all the time, so wonder how the spiders got in there.

Definitely more dust than front engine Corvettes. Not a big deal. I use a long, adjustable handled Swiffer Duster.

It is not like the cover envelops the whole car, the underside is still wide open.
