So my 2021 2lt is doing something strange. Sometimes the stereo is just not loud. I can turn it up all the way and it's barely normal volume. Other times it's the same loudness at 1/3 volume. Am I the only one? I tried pulling over today and turning the car off and back on then the normally loud stereo was back to normal. This has happened about 6 times in my 800 miles.

If you have your phone connected, that could be causing a conflict. Only other thing I can think of is the possibility your system amp is getting wet from a leak in the A/C drain line next to the console on the passenger side. Check for wet carpet and the related threads about "wet carpet," if that's the case.

I've noticed this on my 21 2LT as well. Thought I was imagining things. Not bad enough to worry about it for me though

just checked. Nothing is wet. But the symptom only happens when my phone is connected. Which is every time I drive. I wonder if the android auto is the culprit. It's never been a stellar application in my eyes.
Not sure about your particulars, but if I get an incoming phone call on my 2016 Malibu, the ac fan appears to almost turn off. There are interplays at work more than likely.

I think I would agree. Mine is always connected too. I've even noticed it can be worse if I listen to a podcast on Android Auto which often precedes the "problem"

I think you just found your problem. So I'd try disabling the app and possibly using the app only when you cable connect to your USB port (if that's an option on a '21). For others who may know and could possibly help, your phone brand/model and Android version could help with a diagnosis. Be sure to post an update.
