As a long term stick driver i am driving the DCT like a stick when coming to a stop. In a stick, as we all do, is to release the clutch when coming to a full stop and then engaging it when we start up. So with the DCT as I'm coming to a full stop in I pull both paddles and then stop. If i don't do this i get a slight vibration as the DCT downshifts to 1st gear when coming to a complete stop. Is this normal? Should I pull the paddles when coming to a stop?

I only downshift to 3rd and let the DCT take it lower. I don't pull in the paddles and I'm happy with the way it feels. It's different, if you're not familiar with DCTs.

For the 1st month I pulled both paddles when coining to a stop as Tadge said he did. I also used Manual Mode for that month as the C8 was my 1st DD in 60 years without a 3rd pedal. Stopped after that month! The biggest reason is a poster showed how the car drives in Z MODE Power Set to Track. Posted a video below. It was exactly how I drove my two C7s in our rural area. Was shifting at a higher rpm than the C8 in Touring or Sport MODES to 5th. Never found a need for 6th and only used 7th on the Interstate, which I very seldom took. Never drove in ECO so no V4 Mode
The other thing that pushed me to Z MODE was when driving in Manual Mode and leaving the stop sign on the rural road I live on, I have to merge into often heavy traffic on a 4 lane divided highway. This time of year with many cars going and coming from Myrtle Beach have to merge into that ~70+ mph traffic or wait forever! It's fun BUT in Manual Mode with the wheel turned upshift paddle not in a position to shift to 2nd. With a 5.71:1 dif and in 1st gear 14:1 total torque multiplication reaches redline at ~35 mph. That occurs in the blink of an eye. NO FUN hitting he rev limiter when trying to merge into >70 mph traffic!
Also found that slight shudder you get when the 1st gear clutch starts to slip (has to at ~3 mph or the car would stall) is gone. Clutches have worn in so I just come to a stop, let the clutch slip until I accelerate away,.

I pull both paddles before it shifts into 2nd. You can then release one paddle and it will stay in "neutral" until you let go of the one you are holding. (there is no need to hold BOTH paddles) Since I always have at least one hand on the wheel, it's not a big deal. It's like a turn signal now, I don't have to think about it, I just do it...
I just down **** to 2nd, and come to a stop. The car will auto go to first when you come to a stop and that way you have the creep and hill assist features. The only time I pull both paddles is for a quick blip in a tunnel or situation I need a good rev.
