I self delivered my new Z51 HTC Red Mist Tint from MacMulkin to Vashon last week and drove her into her new home with her sister about lunchtime yesterday. So far I’ve spent almost four hours getting her cleaned up, but there’s a lot left to do what with the difficult shape and the 100 mph bugs embedded into the PPF. There she sits though, next to her sister, feeding from the battery maintainer until I finish the detail.

Wonderful way to get to know her. That red mist sure is just about the best shade of red I've ever seen. Excellent color on this car even if red isn't my jam.
Pardon my ignorance, but is that an exaggeration? Do the little buggaboos really get embedded into the ppf at those midlevel speeds? Lol
what would happen at lets say? 150-175? Do they somehow go through and end up under the ppf? Hehe
seriously tho? Embedded? Or just clinging? How hard is it to get them off?
also do you care to share what coverage level of ppf you went with and what it cost? Did you put any ceramic over it?
grear livery on your HTC. That mist red is really making it tough to proceed with my torch red order but so far, at least until maybe I see one on the road, I’m still not 100% convinced I should switch but it’s close.
what color were you thinking before the red mist came out? Long Beach? Torch? Something else? That Elkhart Lake Blue is magical to me. If only I felt it went well with the natural interior I like. I bet it looks amazing with that sky grey interior. Mmmmmm sky grey interioooooor

Good Job!
What a fine pair my friend.
Very nice to see a guy on that coast with gasoline in his veins.

The bugs are stuck in pretty well. The only way I’ve found to remove them is with clay bar. It’s very tedious as I have to attack them a few at a time and multiple passes of spray, clay and clean. The whole front fascia and frunk lid is covered a about 3 or four bugs per square inch. It was a 3,300 mile drive.
Was just noticing all those sub-panels as well. Holy crap. I'd hate to think what the power bill is like. LOL
It’s an old house and I’ve had to upgrade the electrical a bit to power the shop and new kitchen. Also, there is a self starting generator and a separate sub panel for the EFA heat. The monthly bill is cheap compared to many areas of the country. We don’t need AC so really low bills in summer with 19 hours of daylight.
They’re different. C8 has more torque. 911 has better handling and all wheel drive. I have a set of winter tires for the 911 and I have driven the mountain circuit ID, MT, WY, CO, UT, OR in February with complete control and no concerns. I’d never try that in the C8. I don’t plan to give up either one. It’s like Quanah Parker’s wives. I love them all.
A way to help with the bugs is to put a damp towel on the front end for a couple of hours to soften the bugs. Then they should come off much easier when you spray wash the frontend. I had a bunch of bugs on our C6 from a CMCS drive or Cashmere on Saturday. That afternoon I sprayed teh front end with a garden hose set on "jet" and the bugs fell off. Of course I had just clay barred and applied Rejex to the whole car a week prior.
Your C8 looks just like what I have ordered from the outside. Now at status 3000, and hoping for a late August/early September delivery and the Museum.
Would love to see your car; are you going to be on the eastside anytime soon?

Hi Steve;
I don’t plan to visit Seattle ever, but I do go to Tacoma regularly and you’re welcome to stop by the island if you like. Just pm me and let me know when you’re coming. I’m right off the south end ferry. Thanks for the tip about the wet towels - I will try that.
Recently, I drove over 500 miles in one weekend in western NC-Tail of the Dragon, Cherohola Skyway, etc. Lots of bugs & mess. Found that Griot's Bug & Smudge Remover worked great with minimal effort-spray on, & then pressure wash.

Maybe I can meet you in Tacoma? PM me your schedule, or I could give you a call...I have your phone #.
