Default Engine Compartment Lights - timer???? Page 129 in Manual

After driving my car, I park it in our garage, and open the back engine compartment hatch, so the engine
will cool down faster.
When I open the engine hatch, there are 4 lights that come on, and stay on for 15 minutes, before they fade out.
On page 129, or the 2020 corvette manual, it indicates - - "while the vehicle is off, a timer will turn the
lamps off.
Where is this timer? My lights stay on for 15 minutes, can this timer be adjusted to shut the lights off sooner?
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks all !

No adjustment. Normal operation. Its all tied in with the BCM/dome light operations. Headlights if left on will time out as well after 15 minutes.

Thank you for responding. When they say "timer", I thought there would be an adjustment
or setting, but I'm wrong.

On my C5 I installed a switch so I could turn on or off to suit. But, on the C8? Well, who knows... likely microchip controlled like nearly everything else.

This. It has been this way for a number of years.

The timer is built into the body computer and shuts off all lights that have been left on after 15 minutes, no adjustment to this setting. My 2000 Silverado had this and every GM since (and probably some time before it) has had it. Its to prevent draining the battery
