Had several battery charger/maintainers so did not buy the $100 option charger for my C8. Ordered a cigarette lighter adapter charging cable for $10 from Amazon that would plug into my charging cable on my Duracell charger. When I went to plug it in, noticed that the polarities are reversed on the new cable I just purchased. Is this going to be an issue when I plug into the accessory outlet in the frunk?
Really can't be sure what the polarity is just from the wire color. As the post above said, use multimeter and test it. If you don't have one, a lot of auto parts stores will let you use one. Or spend $10 to buy a basic one. The center pin on the lighter plug should be hot (+12 volts).

Hate to admit I do not know how to use a multimeter . . .

I just checked mine (same setup as yours) and the polarity on mine is correct (opposite of yours).
If you plug in the maintainer, it will send an "incorrect connection" signal if it is wired incorrectly.
If that is the case, simply take your extender wire; cut it in half; strip the wires about an inch on each side of the cut; pull on some shrink wrap tubing; twist the bare ends together (remember to reverse the polarity); solder the joint (optional); slide the shrink wrap tubing over the joints; heat the shrink wrap tubing; tape up the connections with electrical tape. You should be good as gold.
