So I never read the owners manual, no time, but today when I got into my car I could not get any sound volume. No XM, no FM, no AM, and no Bluetooth from my phone.
Never had had this happen ever before.
The volume **** on the dash and volume button on steering wheel show the yellow volume bar increasing and decreasing in the audio display and center display, but no matter what level it is set to and no matter what source I use, I get no sound.
Wondering if inadvertently I pressed or set a mute without being aware ?
Before I take it to the dealer, just wondering if I set something while unaware.
any suggestions ?
Thank you
.

Not near my car right now, but if you press the volume **** in I believe it mutes the audio. If you then turn the **** to adjust the volume, I'm not sure if that un-mutes the audio, or if you have to press in the **** again to do so... worth a test.

Do the blinkers make a sound or fasten seatbelt chimes happen? I thought there was an issue with amplifiers being replaced when this is the case.
thank you for suggestion of what to look for.
No, in my case no blinkers or chimes.
I think the audio did not boot up properly.
It took the audio screen like like a good 10 seconds to show up after starting the car up when I was unable to get any sound. The screen never took that long to awaken upon starting the car. I Did try shutting the car off and setting the alarm and re-entering and cycling about 4 times and it made no difference. BUT after giving the car about 10-15 mins alone parked I went back to try again and all good again.
Looks like when I parked the C8 and gave it about 10 mins and tried again, it reset or rebooted and all is fine fine now. Back to normal.
I believe it was a glitch in the software/firmware/ programming.
It reset set on its own after parking the car for about 10mims.
Thank you to everyone for your help.

The C8 seems to suffer from control/alt/delete syndrome more than any other car I've ever owned. When something isn't working properly, every time I shut the car off and restart it the problem goes away.
I want to add that this is NOT a just a Corvette problem.
Along with my 2020 C8 purchase, I bought a brand new 2020 LINCOLN Aviator for wifey to appease her.
Well, I just want to report that a similar issue occurred with her back up camera.
I was backing up one time a few months ago and the back up camera was black/blank/not working. The other side view and birds eye view and front cameras all showed up . So I tired several times times to put it into park and then into drive and then into reverse again and cycled it a few times using the transmission gear selector and nothing helped. Then I shut the car off closed the doors and set the alarm and then re-entered and the back up camera came back.
So this appears to be issues on other cars that use the same “over the air” update-able software

I completely agree with this. Modern cars are just full of computers and they all suffer little glitches from time to time. I'm not much on computers but the first thing I learned was to reboot and it solved 99% of the problems.

Round button on the upper left of your screen is the audio mute button when pressed.

My 2014 C7 suffered from the same software reboot requirements and audio system silence was a routine occurrence but my 2018 C7 did not exhibit those symptoms with some upgraded electronic enhancements starting that year. It all seems to revolve around "brain fog" in the Body Control Module (BCM). I also had power to interior lights and the Homelink system go out for no reason. Shutdown and restart always solved the issue.
